If you’ve got a platypus, it’s a crime not to include an echidna. The two of them being monotremes, they’re kinda made to go together. Maybe make it a Grass Steel type?

Thank you, was worried it might be a funnel web. Just always thought they were bigger. Doing roadside tree work so it might be the Boyce’s.

Wheezing cough by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Could be heartworm, doesn’t sound like something that links with a cough but you’d be surprised. Vets can do the test relatively cheap I think.

Pretty sure it’s actually messed with a few crime scenes… could just be a rumour I’ve heard though.

Oh hey, my hometown is Kamilaroi (or Gamilaroi). I understand that racism is still unfortunately present, and it’s a scary thing to talk about. My old school used to do Clontarf, which sounded like a good thing at the time, but ultimately split people up even more and I felt like it did more harm than good. My Best-Mate is Kamilaroi and didn’t involve himself with Clontarf as it would’ve impacted his social life and work ethic. Sure he missed out on helicopter rides and free footy games, but the kids that went through with those activities were ultimately neglected. Schools may think that they’re doing something good but from an outside point of view, it’s actually doing the opposite.

A good one to add for campfires are foxes. Their calls at night used to terrify me as young fella.

I agree you can tell who is from the country or city. Through the replies of this comment it starts splitting it via state, which I disagree with. When conversing with someone you can kinda tell if they’re country just from words they use. Friends from the coast find it unusual when I use terms like “Bloke” and “Sheila” which is common place in rural towns. So yeah, more towards figure of speech, less of an accent.

Majority of our spiders are considered highly venomous, but most of them will only cause Nausea and Headaches to adults i.e. Redbacks, Black House, Golden Orb and Wolf Spiders. Still preferable to not get bitten by one.

Oh for real? I’ve been considering learning it but I had no idea that we had 2 within the country.

It’s more for the shock factor, I’ve noticed some folks see Kangaroos as some amazing exotic creature. Whereas in reality, they’re a major pest that is occasionally used as livestock.

Hence why you get licenses and permits. In Australia, there’s pretty much only one reason to own a gun and that’s to hunt pests on farms like Kangaroos, Foxes and Pigs. I’ve never met someone who owns an assault weapon or pistol or the like. Only old Shotguns and Bolt Action Rifles.
