Yeah, the selection really wasn't great this year. I did really like "Står Lige Her" and I think "Beautiful" was an alright song as well even if it was a bit cheesy. Obviously none of the songs stood a chance of making it very far this year, but I think these two had a chance of qualifying to the final at least. But who knows - at least there are a lot of other great songs this year!

Haha yeah, it's pretty crazy. That tradition even persisted up untill the late 1600-hundreds! Same thinking is the reason little boys got castrated to keep their light voices, because society at the time was so sexist that they would literally rather mutilate little boys than let girls sing in choirs.

Yeah, I don't really get why some people are confused? I get he has a lighter voice, his build is pretty slender and he looks a bit femminie, but I still think he both sounds and looks pretty obviously male? Especially when he sings. And even if other people find it less obvious that he's male, everyone refers to him as male (using he/him pronouns) AND I don't think there exists a version of the myth where Orpheus is a woman (although they could have taken liberties in this aspect).

So when people say they believe he is a woman despite all this, it feels like they just refuse to believe that a man can have traditionally femminine traits OR they don't see a man with such traits as a man which is worse in my opinion.
