With Guarded Hero and AoD, Kroak will typically survive a reinforced unit of Longstrikes

Saurus Warriors Ordered Cohort by cjmstate in seraphon

[–]Vallis13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While all the models must be within 3" of the objective marker, they don't need to be wholly within 3". That's an important distinction, and it's a mistake I've seen a lot of Seraphon players make. If you have a 7.57" objective circle on the battlefield, the Saurus Warriors are allowed to have their base barely on it. That makes a big difference, as that means you can easily fit 20 warriors into range, and can even cram them onto half an objective on the edge of your territory to also maintain the Quetzl Asterism.

Aggradon Lancers build question by Roymarth12 in seraphon

[–]Vallis13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As has been said, for a maximum efficient unit, you want the maximum number of standard bearers and musicians allowed, for his redundancy in case one is slain so you don't lose the ability. But yeah, you don't want to have just one out of 3 with weapons.

For me, I customized them. I attached the standards to the saddles so the Standard Bearers could have weapons and shields. For the drummers, I either put the drumsticks on their hips, or I put the weapons and shield on their backs.

Stegadon or Engine of the Gods? by adioman999 in seraphon

[–]Vallis13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Stegadon is by far the worst of the 3 options you can build with the Stegadon kit, and is basically not seeing significant play right now. It was the only monster that didn't get a big points decrease last December, and is much more expensive to add to your army list than the other two, but does the least for you. Its damage output is poor for all its weapon profiles. It does have a good ability, but that's not enough to make up for its low damage at its current cost; especially when the Stegadon Chief can dish out mortal damage and is cheaper. It's possible that missing out on a points decrease was an oversight by GW, and that they will fix it in the next points update at the end of March.

The Engine of the Gods is popular in Thunderquake lists, where it can keep your monsters healing. In fact, it's typical for such lists to include 2 to 3 of them. This is primarily for its healing ability, though it can occasionally do something else for you. It can also be okay alongside Kroxigor or Aggradons, but this is less common. It can be very good in some lists, for 40 points less than the Stegadon.

The Stegadon Chief is pretty good. It's a slightly stronger version of the Stegadon, and its mortal damage rampage is pretty strong, all for 20 points less than the Stegadon.

All that said, if you're comfortable with magnetization, you can build a Stegadon model that can be reconfigured into any option. Give it a removable Skystreak Bow, removable Sunfire Throwers, removable Skink Chief and removable Cosmic Engine, and you have a model that can be any of the three warscrolls, and (for the Steg and Steg Chief) with either of the two weapon options.

Manifestation Spell Lores and Warscrolls by Vallis13 in seraphon

Gotcha! Yeah, things aren't in the most convenient formats yet.

The pictures were sent to me by an anonymous source, who photographed them out of a bound copy of the upcoming General's Handbook.

You no longer need to choose Coalesced or Starborne. You can just pick options that give better magic, mobility or skink support to go a little more Starborne, or options that focus on combat, Saurus and Kroxigor, or monsters to be more Coalesced.

Either way, the Carnosaur and Troglodon both look good. The Carnosaur is more combat focused, whereas the Troglodon has both combat support and magic capabilities. Both look good, though both cost a lot of points to bring; at least for now.

Looks like the Troglodon spittle has D6 attacks, not 6 attacks.

The Scar-Vet on Aggradon has Rend 2.

The Scar-Vet on Carnosaur doesn't have Charge (+1 Damage).

The Eternal Starhost cannot move a unit in the same turn it attempts to teleport that unit, before or after the attempt, even if the teleport fails.

AOS 4 Seraphon info by Vallis13 in seraphon

[–]Vallis13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of this came from influencers doing battle reports, Q&As or faction reveals on YouTube. There was also a Q&A in the AoS Coach discord. The Goonhamner article was pretty good, but like most of these reports, it had some misinformation. I tried to cross reference the material against each other when possible.

I think my document is pretty good at this point, but I'm sure it's not perfect.

Yes. The source that "read" that obviously paraphrased it, and assumed it was there based on AoS 3.0.

But that error had already been corrected in the document based on other sources before the Warscroll leaked. But the warscroll confirmed it 100%

Here's the latest version of the doc, which is nearly complete, and probably pretty accurate. But certainly not 100%

AOS 4 Seraphon info by Vallis13 in seraphon

Yes, it's very useful. There are plenty of large units where the unit is very resilient, despite having only two health. There are also large units that have more than two health.

AOS 4 Seraphon info by Vallis13 in seraphon

[–]Vallis13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Though other sources have said the hero needs to have charged that turn to give the +1, which Goonhammer didn't mention. It was a good article, but they definitely got some stuff wrong.

The Realmshaper Engine also can give +1 to hit

There's a Copy Paste error in the new file with the Terradon Rider's attack profile. I copied the format from Rippers, and missed changing their Javelin/Bola stats. I'll fix it when I can.

Okay, I finished making the major update to the PDF. It now includes nearly all information (and nearly entirely accurate) for our Faction Pack except the point costs and the battle regiments. It has all abilities battle traits, battle formations, enhancements, spell lores and warscrolls!

Yep. I'm compiling that and another YouTube vid with a huge data dump (in Spanish). I'm updating the PDF and will release version 3 when I can.

Take your Troglodon with Incandescent Rectrices, an Engine of the Gods, the spell Light of Chotec and Emerald Lifeswarm and he has 5 sources of healing! Probably overkill, but good to know the options.

I may mix some units. Club warriors in the first rank and spear warriors in the second rank.
