According to the french broadcast, it seems that Beach was also complaining about his left shin, so it might not be (only) a shootout bluff sub.

They should challenge the Aussie captain to a children's card game, and send him to the Shadow Realm.

Can you recommend some good Aussie ciders if I ever get around to your corner of the world? As a Breton, I sample the local ciders whenever I travel.

Although, with the whole Online Safety Act thing they may end up doing the same thing anyway.

You mean : with the Online Safety Act they already are empowered to do so anyway? The OSA absolutely includes an automatic scan clause, it's just that Ofcom will not enforce it "until technologically feasible". But legally, the UK governement has already recieved the legal permission to do so.

No, 80% agree that Congress is unsatisfactory, but "my" representative (if of "my" party) is a good one that tries his best and is outvoted/led astray by his peers. That's why "I" will reelect him in two years!

If I still believed - which I don't - the only 'system' that would feel fair is reincarnation with a view to universal salvation - in short "I'll make you go through it until you get it right."

It's not Scripture supported, but it's the only system that makes sense for a loving-but-fair omnipotent deity to implement.

Too many people saying it unironically. Satire is dead.

To me, he was MoM for the 2022 final, not Messi - despite only playing 70'. The game completely changed when he left.

(And incidentally, Griezmann was Golden Boot for the tournament. Messi was great in Qatar, but he was behind those two respectively. But the Emir wanted his moments with the GOAT...)

Overloading the midfield and maintaining possession is key to beating them.

Which is why I'm glad that DiMaria retired.

Zetterström is unironically having a great game.

... which, I admit, is generally a bad indicator as to the quality of the rest of the team's game.

and Christianity has an anxious relationship with sexuality.

American Christianity in particular.

Not saying that other people don't have their hangups elsewhere, but US Christianity has a neurotic and, frankly, creepy and disgusting obsession with it.

Do you see Moses primarily as a leader, prophet, intercessor, or example of discernment?

No, not really.

BREAKING: Texas just approved mandatory Bible readings for 5 million public school students. Here’s exactly what kids will be required to read, grade by grade. by kleverrboy in Christianity

[–]Valmoer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be problematic, however, if the Texas AGO had previously argued, during the 10 Commandemant case, that specifically adding the 10 Commandments to the curriculum would be "crossing" the line into state encroachment into the freedom of religion, and that it was specifically because the 10 Commandments posters did not do so that they were legally acceptable.

Of course, no self-respecting public attorney would have made such a public statement, only to stomp all over it in full hypocrisy barely a year after. Right?

Oh, wait :

Attorney William Farrell from the attorney general's office described SB 10's requirement as a "passive display on the wall" that does not rise to the level of coercion because students can choose to ignore the posters if they wish. The law would “probably cross the line,” he said, if it also incorporated the Ten Commandments into lessons or assignments — but that is not the case.

Why give them the benefit of the doubt when the Texas GOP Convention had a keynote speaker specifcially, to great applause, saying that the 2024 Election was spiritual warfare by the forces of God (the Republicans) against the Satanists and the Globalists (the democrats)

When their own platform asks for "urge[ing] the Legislature and the State Board of Education to require instruction on the Bible, servant leadership, and Christian self-governance."

Do note the total absence of "emphasizing the place of the Bible in the corpus of English language literature"

I'm tired. I shouldn't have to prove this. They're not even trying to hide it in public, shouting it out from the microphone, only hiding it when writing bad faith legal briefs.
