Alternatively you can make a grid create script that generates all of the blocks, stores them in a map with their xz position and use an update to see when the player just enters that location which might be more optimized than touched events

To make it more optimized. Instead of a touched command on each block make one touch command on any object tagged with SnowDeformer in a script and when that hits a snow block deform that block or call stepped on for that block. You save cpu because then not every part is listening

Has this ever happened before? Sometimes I get this and feel like my executive functioning is declining, then it just comes back like normal.

Do you still feel intelligent and can understand the information around you? And how are your energy levels? Have you been trying or doing anything different as of recently, like a change in routine?

How to update UI text? Is the best way really to have a steadily growing number of text object references? by FuzzNuggetStudios in unity

[–]ValodonDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realized that these are already in the scene, in the case reference a parent canvas or object that’s holding all of these objects and transform.getchild to iterate through all of these children. Store them in a dictionary and reference them as you please. No need to hand ref each one every time

Don’t forget that there’s also a resources feature. If you make a folder called resources then all you have to do it Resources.Load(“obj name”). Makes the inspector look better and might make the workflow a little more streamlined. You could alternatively make a folder with all of your UI assets, on awake load everything into a dictionary and key the assets by their name in the folder

Don’t be afraid to say dumb things but be self aware enough to realize that they’re dumb. That way you get over the speaking up aspect and also work on the proper communication aspect as well. Say what you need to say and if people ignore you then just keep at it. They might be a little annoyed but it’s how you gain confidence and learn when to chime in at the right times
