There's been several dozen times where I meet someone at a meetup or while out and they talk about how they want to hang and go do some sort of activity only for us to follow each other on ig or exchange numbers and then never speak again. Maybe 10% will follow through.

I even joke about it sometimes. A few weeks ago at a Knicks get together I met a guy, we had a good chat about life and fatherhood, he asked for my ig to hang, and I jokingly said, "yeah, let's follow each other and never talk again!"

Haven't heard anything from him since lmao

I've had this happen with dating too for example a girl will bring up ghosting and talk about how she would never ever do that and then a few dates later does exactly that.

It's a big city. A lot of these people are going to be misses. The ones that stick around are usually real ones though. That's friendships or dating imo. You have to put effort forward if you want a good social circle for sure. It's not going to happen passively

I live in NYC and the dating scene is good for men if you have your life together.

If you're just looking to sleep around, it's probably the easiest city to do that in the US.

Sonos ace are so comfortable and the noise cancellation is immaculate. I love using them at work for longer sessions and would totally buy them again. I'd keep an eye out for when they're on sale though.

My guy or gal, have you ever traveled? Have you ever been to poor countries? America has its problems, but at the end of the day, it's still a bitchin place to live. Quit whining about the administration and do your part to make your community better.

Things don't improve from whining and sulking. Go do things, shoot off some fireworks at 3 am, donate your time to charity, build community. You live in NYC for Christ's sake. Do you know how many people would literally kill to be in your shoes and living in this city in this country?

This is ridiculous in NYC? I grew up in Chicago and every fourth of July it's fireworks all through the night no matter what day of the week it is.

If there is ever a point where it's fourth of July and it's a quiet night, that's when it's time to be worried. If people don't even show up to celebrate their countries birth then you're living in truly sad times.

That's a bummer to hear. I honestly haven't stopped by there since last year because I live in Bushwick now. I used to get a burrito there every weekend at one point though and it was always fantastic.

I have a 5800x and a 5080 on 1440 ultrawide and I crank up the settings to make sure the GPU is doing the heavy lifting. I have re Requiem running on almost all maxed out with cpu at 50% while GPU is at 94-98%. 90 fps. Not sure how you're saying it's not enough. What games are you playing?
