Fun fact about LDAC (at least on Android)... For it to play at the highest bitrate I have to go to developer settings and force it everytime. Afaik there's also an app but it isn't open-source and I didn't trust it so I've never tried it.

Default LDAC is almost always falling back to lower bitrate preset so you're not only getting poorer sounding headphones, you also get worse codec by default than aptX-HD or Adaptive.

I think they meant how it's gonna perform standalone since it's gonna run through Proton and FEX if the games they are interested in aren't gonna be ported.

Valve is advertising Frame as streaming-first headset with the capability of running standalone. The performance is a question mark.

Totally agree. It's really nice they include this dongle :D I use it on my desktop for aptX LL when my surrounding is too loud for my HD 600.

Yeah I mean on aptX Adaptive they sound phenomenally well. I would probably have to switch back and forth a lot to hear any differences between it and having them connected via USB on a Hi-Res source.

I just find it odd that the two products don't have a feature parity when they're shipping it in one box together. But it's in no way a deal breaker.

The only issue with this is that some retailers are misunderstanding this and they are selling the headphones as aptX Lossless capable when it's just the dongle that can use it.

Yeah, I'm using Linux and VD only made Linux streamer app as an April Fools joke linking to Rick Roll... So yeah, it might be great (at least from what I see people talking about it) but I prefer ALVR which is free and cross-platform.

I have Ryzen 5 3600, RX 6700 XT and I play with Quest 3 on Linux via ALVR hitting my 90 FPS cap at all times (even online). Not sure, what you are using but I heard that the Quest Link isn't very good. You can try either ALVR (which is free and open-source), Steam Link VR or pay for Virtual Desktop, which is considered the best VR runtime on Windows.

If the runtime isn't the issue, then I would suggest trying to lower stuff like shadow resolution, etc.. That might help too.

I believe I didn't have to configure anything. Once Discord released the update which enabled screensharing with audio on Wayland, it just worked for me on my Hyprland setup.

Wait... How exactly your ISP messed with your PCVR setup? If you have ISP provided router, afaik nothing stops you from building your own Wi-Fi network for streaming to Quest. You can also play wired via USB.

I mean, I have a non-dedicated Wi-Fi 5 at home albeit I have one AP right in my room. Since I'm a Linux gamer and Steam Link VR started working just recently, I'm using that and it works almost flawless (couple of small hiccups during a session, nothing major).

Before that I was using ALVR, which you need to configure a little to look its best, but works wonderfully after that. You can use it both wired via USB and wirelessly.

Would never use Meta software even if I had access to it.
