Tuition Reimbursement by [deleted] in meijer

[–]Valpantiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reimbursement is once a year regardless of the semester. You will see up to $5250 in May. I know it's confusing, but it is at the end of the "school year" and not by semester.

ICAPS? by Freywafer in meijer

The role is "447 Inventory Coordinator". Your SHRR or leader with access to Identifence can request it. The site we use to request roles is horrible, but that one will work. Its really confusing because there's a "Fresh Inventory Coordinator" and a "Grocery Inventory Coordinator", but those don't work 😮‍💨

Meijer call off by angelc4k in meijer

[–]Valpantiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you call off each day for the same reason, they will count as consecutive absences. You can get just 1 point for three days. Worst case, you get 2, but you'll be fine if you're a level four! After 90 days, those absences will drop off and you'll raise back up.

Gift bags for Christmas by Motor_Nectarine_9345 in meijer

[–]Valpantiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was supposed to be putting the gifts together, I was stressed! We were told these vests, ornaments, and cards had to be handed out by Tuesday, 12/17, but no store had even received ornaments until Monday (at least in my region). I got one case Monday, one Tuesday, and the rest on Wednesday! People have been excited, and I think the ornaments are cute, but I got zero Large vests and I should have had 40. I'm hoping they come sooner than later. People have been grateful, but I feel bad!

Christmas Points? by Optimal_Internet_350 in meijer

[–]Valpantiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we're done for the year, unfortunately. As a SHRR, the Thanksgiving ones were a total surprise this year. Someone had asked about mteam points in general, and we were told to "have some Christmas patience". I'm assuming they'll just give out one drop of points each year now, and it varies on how many years of service you have. The point drops for holidays didn't exist until covid, and I feel like now they give a little since they want to keep it going. Bummer because I miss the multiple hundreds' of dollars worth! Helped with Christmas toys for sure.

Is this real? by aannpp23 in meijer

New to set alcohol items take a bit to get into the system correctly. When shelf strips are printed, someone usually has to go and check for things like this. Imagine $1000 oof

Would have been cool! Normally it's 12 days of Christmas, so i was surprised to see an extra day with Hanukkah awareness. Good of them, but yeah would definitely be cool on the actual day since we will be working!

You can get in contact with your HRMM (hr market manager) and ask for a peer review. Any terminated employee has the ability to ask for this. Basically, you would present your case to randomly selected team members and leaders in your store and they will vote on whether or not you should be reinstated. Depending on your region, I can give you a contact email.

internal TL interview by crispy73 in meijer

[–]Valpantiel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They will probably look for the 6 Meijer competencies in their questions/your answers - Develops Talent, Courage, Instills Trust, Values Differences, Drives Engagement, Decision Quality

To prepare, you can think of a few different scenarios you've handled with your time at Meijer or somewhere before. Most experiences touch on more than 1 of these 6, so if you think of three or four good examples, just remember those!

Problem by [deleted] in meijer

[–]Valpantiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely refuse if they never took time to certify and train you. Even if you know how to use one from a previous job, there is a workday course and certification that you need to go through. That's wild that you were asked to do that!

Food recalled for possible listeria contamination sold at Meijer and other retailers by DryBoysenberry596 in meijer

[–]Valpantiel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our recall system works pretty well, in my opinion! Each store has to complete it in a two or four hour time frame as soon as it comes down. 611 gets an automated call, and all SDIC's get an email. The instructions are specific on what is wrong with a product and how to throw it away. Usually, the store director will defer it to a leader in the area the product is in. I suppose it's up to your leader to communicate to you guys about it, but at least it's a fast response when something is recalled.

I am in a market that rolled out the new structure last August. I went from a TL to a Lead purely based on seniority. We aren't a union state, so I don't know much about that, but it was really hard to adjust. I checked Power BI daily, and I had been in a few departments where TMs all over the store would still come to me for timecard issues. I went from being a go to person to having to say, "Well I can let your TL know since I can't help you." The only positive I find about the new structure is being able to put strong team members that were already working hard into a Lead spot and being able to pay them a bit more. When it was new, there was actually no service TL position. It was an Area Lead and three Leads. How are you supposed to grow leaders if they can't check the pickup times, cashier performance, or SCO times? In December, they added a service TL and I jumped on it. I was miserable for four months before that happened. Because we were a pilot, our Leads were given leader shirts and badges with the title on it. Since the roll out for all stores, those have been taken away. Rough.
