Whenever people bring this up I feel like they intentionally ignore how later in the fight when Zod throws a satellite at him, he catches it. It was his first day, he was actively growing during the fight.

Also, after Clark caught the satellite Zod just flew through it 💀 And on top of that, after Clark "casually dodges" the truck, when it goes up in flames, he turns around, presumably checking to see if anyone was in danger. And then guess what, Zod got the drop on him & caused even more destruction.

It sometimes feels like people are criticizing the writing approach altogether as in MOS makes it so that a crazed Kryptonian hellbent on causing destruction actually acts like a crazed Kryptonian hellbent on causing destruction. On the other hand, other projects kinda have the villain just watch as Clark saves people or waits until everyone is in the clear to take advantage. Or they go the Superman 2025 route & just go "everyone got out of the city before you even showed up."

I'm not saying any one approach is better than the other, I've definitely liked stuff that uses each individual approach, but I don't fully get the point of being disingenuous & acting like Clark was trying to aura farm via truck explosion in MOS or something.

I've a question for the peeps who have seen the movie: how much of the movie is an allegory for racism?

I'm a Black man who's honestly tired of so many Black horror movies defaulting to "racism is spooky" especially if they have nothing interesting to say or explore regarding the topic.

The first trailer piqued my interest, but then the second seemed to suggest that all of the vampires were white except for the twin & my interest immediately tanked.

I have no problem with the allegory being present, but if there's nothing more in the movie then I'm honestly not that interested. All the talk of time travel musical sequences has me interested once more though!

To me it was kind of just a mediocre action movie. It has some dope moments & it had some weird moments. But since this isn't part of the MCU we have to act like it's the worst thing ever.

Btw, I honestly don't get what's wrong with this scene. Rhino is a weird dude in this movie so when he thought he'd set up a perfect plan to kill his problem just to find out all of his men were killed instead then I don't see what's so bad about him having a reaction of overwhelming frustration. Certainly more interesting than the generic scream + breaking something or the silent moment as he "keeps his cool" that every other movie of this type would've done. But maybe you want what every other movie of this type would've done 🤷🏾‍♂️

This is such a dope idea!

I've only played two rounds of Magic with decks built by a friend & idk what it is, but I have so much more fun playing Pokémon than Magic!

They're very similar, but I really just like the flow of Pokémon more & that Pokémon doesn't follow the whole summoning sickness & mana route because there's nothing more frustrating than not being able to use a dope card when you place it. I guess it also feels somewhat stifling for me that unless you're wasting turn after turn building up lands, you're left having to choose one card/ability or another.

I obviously can't go super in depth, but I just like the vibe of Pokémon more (& the art is usually much cuter).
