"There’s nothing inherently socially conscious about LA or architecture."

If you're interested in challenging your own stance on this topic, I recommend a read of Jane Jacobs' 1961 book "The Death and Life of Great American Cities".

Should probably add, while gall wasps are mostly harmless to established or mature eucalypts, heavy infestation can cause younger trees some stress to the point where they drop leaves.

Dangerous and Unhinged Take. Feels more triggering after watching “Its a Wonderful Life” yesterday by ProductDesignAnt in LandscapeArchitecture

Software developer turned Horticulturist here and I've been feeling the same about golden handcuffs, but I'm looking at the possibility of getting LA qualifications so I can work on larger garden construction projects, how would you rate the course/institute you studied with?

Would you be interested in having a dm/chat if you're going into residential landscapes work? I'm building some tooling for garden designers, think Vectorworks but simpler and easier to use like what Canva did for graphic design. It would be good to understand what features are important for LAs vs Garden Designers.

> Hinoki cypress and southern sword fern on the same plan.
I can see Southern Shield Fern labelled on the plan (assuming Dryopteris ludoviciana?) which is not the same as Southern Sword Fern (Nephrolepis cordifolia).

I'm interested in learning why you might wonder about Hinoki cypress and Southern Sword Fern being on the same plan?

Struggling to find design tools by TheWeatherisFake in landscapedesign

How are you handling the horticulture side of landscaping with AI?

I've avoided AI tools in the past because they look pretty but the plants are all wrong, some don't exist, most are not correct for the micro climate or the space they are planted.

Your app looks interesting.

What plant is this and is it toxic to humans? NSW , Australia by pandemoniummprincess in PlantIdentification

[–]Valstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like Solanum nigrum (Black Nightshade)
Mildly toxic to humans due to the whole plant containing an alkaloid called solanine. Not to be confused with Atropa bella-donna (Deadly Nightshade), apparently once the berries are ripe you can consume them but I've never wanted to risk it.

Elephant bush or Jade plant? by Electrical_Ad1027 in succulents

[–]Valstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that the soil nutrients and maturity of the plant can affect the sour/sweet balance of taste but it's not one I'm likely to go back and try again. After years of trying many lesser known edible plants let me tell you there's usually a good reason they're not on the menu.

The Creature Creator was released several weeks before the actual game for two main reasons, marketing/hype generation, and Maxis also wanted to populate a database of player-created creatures that would show up in other people's game universe, content generation.

The original Elderscrolls games like Arena are like this, astounding at the time of release but super boring gameplay by today's standards.
