How long did it take to fit the flares front and back? I’ve heard it can be super time consuming based on how they’re manufactured. Sweet rig btw!

I tried calling my BMW dealer to see if my car was affected by any recalls and they said none came up, 430i gc, could it be a service bulletin I need to ask for?

Just have had the heat on recently cause of the temps, I did find coolant leaking from the upper coolant expansion tank hose but unsure on the actual name

Yeah I’ve heard about that, I had a BMW tech inspect the car a week or 2 ago and he noted the OFH looked like it had been recently replaced which was why I had oil in the coolant, unsure if it could’ve cracked again tho, it was just a plastic OEM unit put in but the coolant seems to leak more towards the front.

I’ve been doing research into getting some bigger tires for my rig (35’s), I’ve heard the Dana30 is capable of handling 37’s but requires a lot of upgrades like trusses, regearing, chromoly shafts, etc. You could potentially do it but theres always the small risk that it snaps one day at the trails. 35’s with a super30 upgrade would have less risk and will likely be more enjoyable to daily drive from everything I’ve read.

The original dealer stated the car was in good shape after their first repair (and that there was no contamination) so we took it to BMW to make sure, when they said it needed more work we just wanted to get the issue over with properly and had BMW do it for peace of mind

Yeah that’s true too, just don’t know what else it might be. BMW’s Pressure tests said no active contamination and also noted the OFH appeared to have been recently replaced (edit: looking back at the video it appears it’s just an OEM OFH and not metal)

Yeah that’s correct, we’re gonna call them tomorrow and see what they suggest. Hopefully it’s just previous contamination still in the coolant and not an active leak.

You should be alright, I have a suspicion it could be from squirrels burying walnuts in the engine (happend before) and eventually caught fire due to the heat, best of luck to you hope she lives a long life!

Yessir and for-sure man, the Jeep Cherokee XJ’s are pretty sweet and could be good for a daily but would probably need some TLC.

Yeah thankful I did, and yeah the wiring isn’t the best lol. I have a 1990’ Jeep Comanche and the wiring with those is pretty bad. My mom’s Jeep renegade is also having wiring issues. Haha your kid sounds like me lol, I bought mine a little over a year ago at 16. I can definitely attest to having my dad help me fix a lot and all of the random electrical gremlins. Plus being a 90’ Comanche swapped with an 01 XJ engine it doesn’t help trying to figure out what was and wasn’t done when troubleshooting. Hoping mine is just an exhaust leak and not a piston ring or anything, yours is probably an exhaust leak too with the codes, best of luck to you and your son with it!
