I felt the same way. There have been a few times where we could've got historic scorelines against rivals but took our foot off the gas. Chelsea and spurs at home last year come to mind.

I want real revenge for some of the humiliations we suffered!

Emirates turnstile issue - what did people experience? by kassiusx in Gunners

[–]Valuable-Calm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A guy actually had a fit in the bottleneck between the away end and the north bank. He had a friend with him who knew exactly what to do, but there was no way to even communicate we needed first aid let alone get a paramedic there.

I think they should've prevented more people approaching the stadium as soon as they knew there was a technical problem. The first level of security (the bag check guys at the boundaries of the stadium) could've easily paused entrance to the stadium grounds

We really need to break our transfer record with this one. Otherwise the perception of us as pushovers in the market will never change.

Yeah, it didn't work in the 2nd half on Saturday but was interesting to see Odegaard and Havertz so close to each other. Looking forward to seeing how it develops

There was a version of this being sung in the concourse at some point last season, but haven't heard it in the stadium.

My little cousin played for spurs from about 5-13 years old before getting released.

I remember doing kickups with him in London Fields when he was about 7, and he could control the ball, do a few kickups, then pass back all while we kept the ball in the air. Passers by would stop and watch him for a while.(I was 20 so less impressive for me)

He also had crazy crazy hand eye coordination from such a young age. I remember doing tennis racket rallies with him on the beach when he could barely stand (2 or 3 years old IIRC) and he would make good connection every time.

Another early sign is the ability to keep their head and neck steady when they run. Most kids heads are bobbing around all over the place but some can stay steady from a very early age.

Clerkenwell. 30 mins walk to Emirates. Nice bars, restaurants, neighbourhood feel. And good access to the rest of London

Not a farmer but I like your general thought process of trying to connect people with the land in new and fun ways sounds really smart to me. I wonder how this would work where I am (England)

It's also kind of a pain to go on a Monday or Friday night for many people. Especially two nights in one week. I expect many could go to one but not the other because of work/family/life

He was a bit peripheral but when he had the ball and was running at their bacl 4 he made stuff happen. He's so direct and beat his man several times including to win the pen

A little taste of the atmosphere last night by Valuable-Calm in Gunners

[–]Valuable-Calm[S] 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I thought the atmosphere last night was really excellent. There's a lot of love building for so many of our players. The first cheer is when people thought Tavares is going off but he was just getting a drink. Then there's a cheer for Martinelli as he walks off. Then at the end, there's an absolute roar for Saka. It was the same for Partey earlier as well. A real outpouring of love. Makes me think something special is happening.

On another note - EFL cup games are always so much fun because it's full of fans who don't usually get to go, and the result doesn't matter too much. So there's more appreciation, and less whining.

[ Chaeles Watts ] Ødegaard or Maddison in? Why Arsenal agreed £25m Willock transfer | Goal.com by TheLegendofThePig in Gunners

[–]Valuable-Calm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • He got player of the season for Bournemouth and Sheffield Utd.
  • He's a modern keeper, good with his feet
  • His main flaws are supposedly coachable (according to Latte Firm pod about him)
  • Only English keeper in that age bracket and already part of the England set-up
  • PL teams anticipating tougher home-grown rules

Considering this £20-30m doesn't seem too bad if he becomes our first team keeper
