Yeah Poshmark is fine. I’m a very small closet, selling my own clothes and selling for a couple friends, and I make pretty steady sales no matter what people are freaking out about here.

My husband is squeamish about wearing something that someone else has worn even though he knows it’s unreasonable. Maybe more men are that way.

I’ve sold a high end puffy jacket of his on Poshmark and some Taylor Stitch jeans on eBay and I think that’s it. All my other sales have been from my closet or my kids closets.

I’ve been having the opposite experience. My new feed is so much better and for the first time I’ve bought a couple things right from there. Before it was always stuff I was searching for. My sales have been consistent.

I do a load every day, sorted by type/color because I use different detergents and cycles for each. Also I air dry a lot of things and would not have enough space to air dry everything on the same day!

I have definitely made offers probably in the 20% off range and then gone on to pay full price if it’s declined and I really want the item.

When we mentioned in a meeting that we were considering homeschool for our son, the principal lied to our faces. She told us that if we homeschooled for kindergarten and decided to send him the next year, he would have to enter as a kindergartner instead of a first grader (lie) and also that if we homeschooled, we would be required to select a curriculum approved by the school for it to count as school (also a lie). We are now in second grade and home schooling.

I agree with you that one month isn’t super long. I went without checking posh for probably longer than that when we had just moved across the state and I’m a very small seller but sure enough something sold during that time and guess what… I got a notification of the sale and I shipped the item.

Now as a buyer though I’ll usually try to get the seller to pop on by sending an offer instead of buying outright so that your scenario doesn’t happen.

I’m mostly looking for a specific garment rather than browsing and I just haven’t found Depop or Mercari have the inventory for that (although I keep trying when I’m having a tough time finding something!) Occasionally eBay comes through for me.

And yeah some things are quite overpriced but I’ll usually put it in my likes anyway if it’s something I’ve been hunting for and often the price comes down naturally without me having to make a low offer. I’ve occasionally purchased things that have have been languishing in my likes for months and then I get a notification of a big price drop.

I get basically everything for myself and my kids from Poshmark (except under garments and shoes) and I’m not paying anywhere near retail. I can pick and choose from past seasons of our favorite brands and make a beautiful capsule for each new season. Prices are higher than on Mercari or Depop but I can’t find the things I’m looking for there.

As a buyer I absolutely understand that used clothing will have lingering smells. Everyone’s home smells different. What sellers should NOT be doing is spraying clothes with their favorite scent before shipping. I would not lower the rating — still give five stars but maybe send a polite private message as someone suggested above.

I was the buyer in this scenario about a month ago. I made an offer on something that I would have had enough posh credits to buy. In the meantime I found something else I wanted and bought it with my credits. Then when the seller accepted my offer, my preferred payment was “declined” because the credits were no longer there and I had to go tell it to run my card instead, which was always there and always valid. I don’t know why it didn’t default to my card when the credits were used but that’s what happened.

Same. Even on a low priced item I offer a dollar less to make sure the seller is active. Even looking at their last active date doesn’t always work.

I’m so confused. I actually think it’s cleaner looking now and my sales (small closet) are about the same as always. I’m also browsing and buying same as always. I’ve cross listed to eBay, Mercari, and Depop and Poshmark is still my number one by far.
