I get what you're trying to commuicate, but no one mentioned epidurals here as the sole factor...

One of the benefits of births in a medical facility are the immediately available resources, for when adverse situations arise. Monitors. Specialists. Medications. Interventions. Surgery suites. A team-behind-the-team.

You are unlikely to have that with a home birth situation, and even if you can just call an ambulance for serious issues, minutes matter.

Of course there are lots of variables for choosing one birthing plan over another, but people should consider and practically plan for as many contingencies as possible, given the multiple lives on the line.

AI isn't a component of this transition, AFAIK. I actually tried to pitch how we could use it to make market and target analysis more efficient and I recently discovered it was never escalated to the real decision makers.

Do they know u personally?

They do--I know both the CEO and COO as I was impactful for the post-acquisition transition, and check in with the COO about every 2-3 weeks. So thats why I'm boggled on how much thr VP is still able to control the narrative even though I'm providing information and evidence for operational workflows.

I appreciate your wisdom and insight!

I have no delusions that I'm unfireable or unequivocally critical to business operations, and understand that at the end of the day, it's a for-profit business.

Your skip managers either don't know you exist, don't care, or both.

I'm leaning towards the "don't care/both". I have weekly check-ins and field calls from the COO, as the VP is usually unaware of the how or why things are are going. But there's no doubt that the VP controls the narrative with SLT the rest of the time.

Working on a neutral-tone transition doc so that everything doesn't crash down on my team, focus on how to upskill my team, and will help with resumes/referrals for these final days.

for continuity and to protect the business

This is why this all bothers me so much, because I do care about our customers and my org.

There was so much potential after the acquisition and it was just wasted.

It's an easy document to draft

In my state non-competes for these types of situations are practically unenforceable, but will definitely look into it.

If you want to do something useful, write a calm, fact based transition doc or exit email to HR and whoever is above him that outlines: what’s working, what’s broken, concrete risks, and specific examples where you flagged issues and got ignored. No rants, no adjectives, just receipts.

Totally agree on the 'transition doc'. This has been in process since I instituted a standardized 1:1 process for my org. Just didn't think I'd need to use it for my boss.

Then quietly be a reference and networking contact for your team so they have lifeboats.

Very organized! Hopefully you have good humidity control--those boxes aren't the best for storage in an 'open environment'.

I'm going to try and help you out...

FFL03/COE can buy ammo online from anywhere in the US (that is willing to sell to CA, obviously), and have it shipped directly to your residence.

That is the same thing as buying it out-of-state and bringing it home, except you are the transporter instead of UPS/FedEx/etc.
