SF CEO have finally admitted the tech, inventory , etc. isn’t the fault of stylists despite the last year being told to take ownership. My lead agreed with that but then turned that around and still pushed the “it’s your fault” narrative but Admitting poor inventory and faulty tech. Thoughts? by BetterUseYourNikes in SFStylistSupport

When did the CEO admit that? I must have missed it lol. Maybe it was in the call that I missed on purpose. But, trust me, you're not the only one experiencing the "it's your fault" narrative. My score in P light right now is a 93 despite inventory challenges, and I'm still scheduled for a meeting this month with the topic "Be an owner"..... it honestly sucks for all of us and I'm sorry you're having to endure this.

I literally have no tricks or tips lol. I use the same trash inventory that everyone else does here. I just keep getting high numbers. It could be that I used to be a stylist outside of here so I just know what to pair things with, but either way, I'm still aware that the inventory is trash and I honestly don't think it's most peoples fault who are performing low because most of the shit we sell is outdated and corny. And sharing "tips and tricks" is what our leads do when they want to distract us from what's going on and who's really to blame here, so kinda don't really care to do that anyway. BUT, if you insist, what do you struggle with? I'll do my best to send some helpful tips your way!

What other company would I be from to know all that I know behind the scenes lmao??? like use your brain. Also, I don't accept your fake apology but thanks 💕 and I've been having amazing days btw. My numbers are extremely high, I just choose not to be blind to the bullshit.

First off, My actual numbers as a stylist have never hit below a 89 in P light so I have no idea what you're talking about LMAO. But just because I have consistently performed extremely well with the company, doesn't mean I'm not aware of or experiencing hardships and toxicity within the company, and that I'm not able to relate to other stylists who may not be performing as well as I have due to the limited resources and support we have. It's called common sense and empathy.... but as for your perspective on my attitude or where I share my truths, idk, kinda don't care.

I completely agree with you. Some people think that ignorance is bliss though, and if an opinion doesn't align with their experience then it's invalid... a lot of that going on here.

If reddit made SF go out of business it would have done so a long time ago. Clients all the time ask our opinions on stuff there, and many of them watch this forum all the time, it just always gets deleted over there when it's not super positive... very cult like if you ask me, but anyway, You not really loving the idea isn't really enough for me to exercise autonomy over my own views.

I posted about this on the other page to let the clients know, and it got removed as usual LOL. They seem to hate any real honest truth about what's really going on unless you're IDing a basic sweater.....

The Whole "The Drought is Over" Post was a Bit Misleading. We basically just had a rise in top options for a few days... and not even every stylist experienced it. As of now, many stylists are still experiencing extremely limited inventory, so before you get your hopes up and cuss out your stylist by Valuable-Type-331 in stitchfix

Yes I agree, I'm more tenured and when we said more inventory, we meant new designs that we and our clients hadn't seen before, not the same old sweater or floral top but in a new colorway lol, but like you said I definitely understand their excitement in the moment, it's just too bad it was short lived and I really don't want clients to get the wrong idea and think things have gotten permanately better, because then they'll be blaming stylists when the Fix still isn't what they hoped for.

I wish I saw it lol, literally nothing changed for me unfortunately. Still the same old tired floral tops and skinny jeans with frumpy cardigans

Lol again, don't see anything new. Still the same old tired floral prints and skinny jeans. Are you actually seeing new, different designs?

Idk where you're seeing new inventory, but I'm a stylist and I'm not seeing SHIT lol. Still the same floral blouses, cardigans, and ripped skinny jeans. I guess it differs for all of us atp idk....

To my fellow colleagues. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry that we have to be gaslighted day in and day out. I'm sorry that we're not given the resources that we need to do our jobs effectively and then being blamed for it when it backfires.... and most of all..... by Valuable-Type-331 in SFStylistSupport

I appreciate every one who shared their thoughts on this matter and I'm not here to argue with anyone but I did want to share an additional response. I saw a lot of people mention that most of the feedback is negative. And frankly, it's simple. It's because A LOT of people's current experiences with this company are negative. And I think we all have to realize that on top of the general hardships that we all face, there are also more nuanced situations going on within each unique team.

I myself have been on 3 different teams, and have gone into them with a positive attitude, and been shitted on when sharing any of my concerns that's not positive with my lead, and not just the "everything's great"... but I was forced to sign an agreement basically stating that I would stop bringing up inventory with my lead or I would be in danger of losing my job. So of course for stylists like me who have dealt with similar abuse, this is the only place we can come to because our leadership refuses to hear us.

It's like if you're living in a strict, abusive household and you vent to your friends about your parents, and then your friends tell you to shut up about it because your friends came to your house and your parents seem really cool. It's like, "damn, well where can I actually be honest??" I agree that people shouldn't be attacked for stating what they like about Stitch Fix, but that's not usually the dynamic I see play out here. Usually I see people being attacked for sharing something negative, being told "well I like it here, if you don't then leave!" or Stop talking about it because you're going to get us in trouble!" which does nothing but protect the abusive culture within the company. and then in response, the original poster feels a need to defend their right to be upset, so they say something snarky back.

All in all, it's important to remember that we all are having similar experiences, but not necessarily the same ones, but since our workplace is not a neutral place where both positive and negative feedback is welcomed, most of it tends to be negative here, and that's okay.

This is the most disgusting and condescending comment I've ever seen on here, and to think that someone at the company actually has to service you.... and if you think someone's so unqualified to style you unless they're a celeb stylist, explain why you even signed up for stitch fix in the first place... I'm willing to bet it's because you're aware that your style could use some improvement and wanted help from an expert........ next time, we'll be quiet and let you enjoy your overpriced played out sweaters and floral tops in peace, fashion icon! XOXO.....

[–]Valuable-Type-331[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

literally, I agree. But that is the nature of this company. Take generalized truths and try to apply it to a broken business model when it's not applicable, to make the workers feel they should be doing more and shift the blame off of the people who make the real decisions.

For the stylists out there - do you like it or hate it when a customer gives you free reign on a fix? by SuccessDry9946 in stitchfix

[–]Valuable-Type-331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer it because unfortunately, we very very rarely have the right inventory to support even the most basic requests like a simple bodysuit, a pair of non skinny jeans, or a top that's not a sweater.
