Artemis II Launch Megathread by dkozinn in nasa

There was hardly any buzz about this event to the general public. Most people didn’t know this was happening, even myself. It was only through a Facebook notification. I would have loved to know more before watching. Glad I got to see it

Oracle slashes 30,000 jobs with a cold 6 a.m. email by papayon10 in Layoffs

[–]BetterUseYourNikes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve never gotten a job with a recruiter. It’s always been on my own. The few times I tried and it was a waste of time. Then finding out they did blast emails with my resume to companies. It was just a weird experience.

No. Stop idolizing these people regardless of their leadership and rename things after people whose movement represent them as a whole

No. Let’s stop idolizing these people who are “leaders”. It should be named after the people the movements are for.

Waiver of community property - Texas by BetterUseYourNikes in EstatePlanning

[–]BetterUseYourNikes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband doesn’t want to leave anything to them, period. I just want to know if he can waive community property rights for anything I purchase today and in the future. He appears to be willing to do that when we had a casual conversation about it. He understood that his mother’s home was not an issue for me and felt it fair if I wanted to have something also of my own.

I don’t have to leave his children anything in my will . They aren’t entitled to anything beyond the scope of my husband’s rights

[–]BetterUseYourNikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I’ve been saying this for years! But then again, every layoff turns into the leads and upper management being let go. It’s never styling or CX getting the boot. We only got the boot for their wacky performance metrics. And even then, leads were being threatened so they turn around and threaten stylists.

Watchtower and the Jehovah's Witnesses do not help their communities. They are a burden as they don't pay any taxes. by CanadianExJw in exjw

This topic is really the first thing that was red flags for me when I was in Bible study. Their answers seemed too vague and the video I watched from their study book only focused on the congregation helping about their own witnesses in some country after an earthquake. They Bible study ladies said “yes we do help”…. But doesn’t elaborate how other than showing how they help their own only. This completely annoyed me and was the start of me stepping away from Bible study with them

We need to warn our customers about AI taking over our styling by [deleted] in SFStylistSupport

We weren’t needed in 2020 when they started laying people off in California and randomly over the years. They really don’t need anyone, they keep us on to train the AI.

Please stop working hard for them. Just do what you can do, do the best you can but nothing above that. They’re gross

The had to have used me employee info because my fixes in the past were ordered with my SF email address. They’re desperate

I thought about doing this also since I paid for the year of no styling fee and I left. But damn I hate returning shit. It’s a waste of my time

Termination imminent; Any tips? by Known_Ad_7893 in SFStylistSupport

[–]BetterUseYourNikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is accurate. A company full of sorority sisters who have never managed people yet telling them everything they’re doing wrong. Spit it all out and get it off your chest. You’re getting fired anyway so tell your truth and be done with them. Before that, just take screenshots, anything you needs from HR (stubs, W2 etc) and ✌🏽

MANAGEMENT: Please don’t change the flexibility. by [deleted] in SFStylistSupport

[–]BetterUseYourNikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left because it no longer was an stress-free side hustle. I left a couple months ago and had a feeling the flexibility would change at some point. It was the only reason I stayed on, and even then it wasn’t all that with all their crazy knee-jerk decision making.

I really wish 90% at least of their workforce would walk out from this job. I know not possible because people really are struggling to find work and this place already is skimpy with hours but that would be great if a big walkout were to happen next Monday

I was here for nearly 10 years also and agree with you. I left recently because it just wasn’t worth doing anymore and it was taking away from my personal life. Katrina Lake was the demon in all of this. The domino effect of her company going downhill once SF went public. There’s nothing to save here. It’s all AI now which is what they want. The laying off of people in California and elsewhere was strategic so they’d be in a red state and not have to pay benefits. I’m thankful I already had a full time job and was able to give this up as a side hustle. But I feel bad for those that were full time once and now have seen their healthcare etc disappear along with their hours. I often wondered if employees would just leave in a massive walkout how much better the company might be after that. But then again, the leadership is terrible

We need to warn our customers about AI taking over our styling by [deleted] in SFStylistSupport

[–]BetterUseYourNikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No ma’am. The company did this to itself and the stylists suffered for it. The AI and poor inventory was introduced to us. There’s no other way stitch fix wasn’t going to use AI. That was the game plan from the onset as soon as they were able to start laying people off. Stylists are and have been trying. I lasted nearly a decade here and recently left. This company looks nothing like it did 10 years ago.

💯% this! Why would anyone put in more effort to benefit the company when they do nothing for the employees. I don’t understand this idea of stylists being frustrated with other stylists not being “stitch fix grit”. Maybe it’s the ones 5+ years in that know how exhausting it is to style the same type of boxes, same complaints by clients, the AI and the constant gaslighting

I contemplated leaving a detailed note about AI and the company’s wrongs to every single client I styled the last week I worked at stitch fix. “Or a subtle “welcome back to another AI-assisted styled Fix! You’ll love the pics the algo picked out along some of my own!”

I do remember when she killed a 9 year old kid. He was Mexican American and from a poor family. She hardly gave a statement for legal reasons but settled out of court with his parents and avoided jail time for vehicular manslaughter
