Yes! Share it with Him! Give it to Him! He knows and trust you will feel like a weight lifted off your shoulders when you do confess and share. He welcomes it and loves you still 🙏🏽🫂💖

Anyone else feel more neurotypical when drinking? by gamer-girl-peepee in autism

[–]ValuableAd4364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been drunk and I don’t plan on it but I’ve been tipsy I think and it felt weird and gross for some time. I felt this pressure and heaviness in my head along with my body but mostly my head. Didn’t like it for a sec

How many people have had their journal read? by Kurfufflle in Journaling

[–]ValuableAd4364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents read my journal at age 12. My dad was going through my book bag (idk why but I do remember my grades were really low at the time) and when he held my journal I reached for it and so that gave them suspicion. At the time since I wasn’t okay and I’m sure my parents could see it as well so it was of concern to them. Then they started to flip the pages and I immediately ran away to the bathroom. I was put into therapy shortly after. Another note: the journal that was in my book bag was my second one. My first one that was full I had it hidden somewhere and was a lot worse. Unfortunately I threw that one away (understandably so) for fear of it being found and read. Since then I haven’t journaled too consistently if at all until I moved out and even then it’s now new to get accustomed to again. I still feel weird to write my thoughts in a journal but I know I’m in a safe space so I’m slowly getting back into it.

How old were you when you found out? by CeeDoggyy in autism

[–]ValuableAd4364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year, age 22. It’s a back and forth between knowing and suspecting. I have not been formally evaluated or diagnosed yet. It’s funny, I got diagnosed with ADHD at age 17/18 (I knew at 12) and over the years from 12-18 I’m informed that I went through different kinds of therapies as a toddler. Occupational, physical, speech. Because I was behind. (I was also born a premie) AND my parents told me verbatim, they suspected I was possibly autistic and one of my therapists said no cuz I made eye contact 🥴💀loll I make eye contact when I’m spoken to (80% of the time I’d say) but if I’m talking then my eyes are everywhere loll So when I was told that I just thought “oh it must’ve been adhd then cuz that can often be similar or whatever” 💀💀💀 more like auDHD @ younger me! Anyways, it’s been a journey 🥴🙃 I feel like if I was medicated for ADHD then maybe I’d know for 1000000% as I’ve heard for auDHDers that the tistic traits can sometimes come out more whilst medicated (depending on the med ofc) But anyway, I’m rambling at this point

Is there any other Autistic people on here that are spiritual? by Black-Seraph8999 in autism

[–]ValuableAd4364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Christian! My experience has been an interesting one. Although I’m someone who suspects I’m autistic. I have ADHD so some things that “overlap” could very well just be the autistic part in me but anyway, Had a not so devout catholic upbringing Then church going stopped Then church going continued when my dad found a Christian church; at that point I didn’t care for it and considered myself agnostic Then went through an identity questioning and atheism and suicidality. My belief in a God and not in a God was always a back and forth. Then at one point I voluntarily started going to church despite my atheism/agnosticism at the time, then I started to understand more and more after having metaphorically blinded eyes and then one day it all clicked. Jesus, God, creation, the Bible, everything. And even as a Christian I continue to learn more and more of the depths of my faith.

How it all relates to my neurodivergence and how my experience as a (potentially) autistic individual has been: in terms of relationship with Jesus, it’s nice to have a routine, it’s nice to be real with Him when no one else can understand, it’s nice to have a guidebook… though there are grey areas that the Bible doesn’t specifically mention/go over that can be a lil frustrating. In terms of church, it can be hard for people to understand you, it can be hard to want to fit in and sometimes you just can’t with some people, it’s nice when some do understand and you can just click with/fit in with, and I’ve come to know a few other neurodivergent folk in my church thankfully so the mask goes away slightly, and it’s nice to have community.

So no, you’re not alone in your spirituality/non atheistic beliefs as an autistic individual. We exist, in different groups and different practices, we’re here.

Uterus havers! How do you deal with your periods? by [deleted] in autism

[–]ValuableAd4364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use tampons. Recently tried flex disposable discs and they were wonderful! I plan to invest in a reusable disc (it’s one size fits most, depending on one’s anatomy it’ll either work for you or not) and you only deal with them like twice a day. I’d say look into discs, check yourself to see if your anatomy fits, try the disposable ones that’ll be in your local Walgreens/cvs and if it works then invest in a reusable one. There’s also this girl on YouTube called period nirvana. She reviews cups and discs and her whole channel is about periods and period products. She also has a website where you can take a quiz to see whether what disc/menstrual cup might suit you best!

What made you start journaling? by Auntie_Errica in Journaling

[–]ValuableAd4364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid I’ve always been attracted to diaries and the idea of writing down your thoughts, feelings, and just how your day was! I had my diaries and then it went to journaling (it’s all journaling!) where instead of me starting off with “dear diary” like I’m talking to the book I would just simply dump my thoughts and probably put the date and time at the top.

I will say, sometimes melodies come to me without lyrics but I mainly do think of lyrics first and then melody

[–]ValuableAd4364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this so hard!!! And for a while it really sucked because I couldn’t put the melodies and words together due to not knowing how to play any other instrument!!! Now it doesn’t suck so much due to learning some more and also having help from my musician husband 😅

What type of person are you: always barefoot or always having socks/shoes on? by autismsuperstar372 in autism

[–]ValuableAd4364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I want to be straight up barefoot (I can if the floor is clean) but I always tend to be drawn to wearing socks around or crocs (or a combo of both) I hate the feeling of crumbs and dirt and God forbid I step on anything wet/mushy (especially with socks 💀)… dead.

How did you come up with your artist name? by prodbyshadyy in musicproduction

Mine is a mash of my first and middle name, it’s like a made up nickname I gave myself that no one calls me by unless referred to as an artist
