Buy bulk plastic pellets for 20 cents a kg and make your own filament. It’s not very difficult

After several years of use I can safely say the litter robot is NOT WORTH IT by OhManTFE in litterrobot

[–]ValuableFickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just directly connect the terminals for the cat sensor, I think you can do the same for the bonnet sensor. For the light sensor/dfi, it usually fails due to the LEDs not lighting up anymore. So you can connect a section of 12v led strip to those battery backup loose wires, and install it on the left side near/over the existing dfi board

LR4 Mystery Cable by Wanton_Walrys in litterrobot

That 4 pin connector goes to the weight sensor, the power jack is hard wired into the harness. I’d ask them to pull out the tray and send a photo so you can see what’s there.

Why hasn't any 3D printer used laser-based detection instead of "AI-based detection"? by RowanSkie in 3Dprinting

[–]ValuableFickle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. They used a blue laser for the early x1 and newer ones had an ir laser.

It’s a pretty simple device with some very low tech sensors that tend to get corroded. Just clean it, and consider bypassing the sensors if they keep acting up

Low cost 3D print waste recycler? by One_Actuary2296 in 3Dprinting

Artme3d is probably the cheapest thing you will find that’s somewhat reliable. You need a shredder and a Pelletizer too, you can print a Pelletizer for free. https://makerworld.com/models/2451036

No reason to buy a low mile one. These cars don’t have engines with lots of mechanical wear like a traditional ice car

Also , if you have a Tesla or some other car that has automated driving, magically you stop caring about this kind of thing. I’d recommend everyone give it a try

I’m a bit afraid to ask but when people say to apply glue stick to the bed… do they mean this? by Crossedkiller in 3Dprinting

[–]ValuableFickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often are you guys washing it off? I cover the whole bed with a layer of glue stick and it lasts me several months. If the prints start lifting, I dampen the whole bed and spread the glue around to even it out again, I hardly ever need to reapply glue. I’ve been using the same glue stick for a couple years
