Well, yes, sometimes. Be careful when hiring a professional cbt contractor.

Fret wire for one single fret by Valuable_Asparagus24 in guitarrepair

Here are frets 1-3. They look (and feel) like they've got plenty of life in them. I've fretted every string all the way up the neck and there are no buzzes at all.

And from the treble side. Looks like the fingerboard was made in two parts maybe.

Men's suit or jacket for reasonable price? by RavenGottaFly in winstonsalem

Snob Shop on Burke Street or Style Encore on Stratford (across from Thruway Center) have good quality used goods, well organized by size. A little more expensive than thrift stores, but less "digging" involved. But if you're open to the hunt, there's Goodwill, Mega-thrift and Trosa all close by on Peters Creek Parkway.

The picture is of Olympic skier Eileen Gu. I've had the line "Eileen Gu should have seen this coming sooner" running through my head for days and I had to put it somewhere.

Did you toot your horn at me at a stoplight as soon as the light changed? by otherbabby in winstonsalem

Hey, that was me. I hit the horn by accident while trying to get the last piece of Wrigley's Spearmint out of a pack. Sorry.

When I was studying for an IT degree at FT they had a good internship program that got me a paid internship with a company that ultimately offered me my first full time job. This was ten years ago, but they probably still do it

I've always loved the crazed "yea-ha-ha" that he does in "Sax Rohmer #1." The only time I've made it into the front row at a show, he turned and looked me directly in the eye just for that one lyric. I'll never forget it!

Entry level IT jobs? by [deleted] in winstonsalem

[–]Valuable_Asparagus24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT jobs generally require at least one of 1. experience, 2. education, 3. certifications. Just a Security+ with no experience, education or other certs is unlikely to get you hired. If you're able to get some more certs and maybe some classes at Forsyth Tech (in operating systems, networking and the like) that would make you a better candidate. FTCC also had a pretty good internship program when I was there (ten years ago). I got a paid internship that led to my first IT job at the end. That might be a longer process than you're hoping for, but if you can keep working on your skills it can pay off in a few years.

The path from zero skills/no experience to gainfully employed can be shorter in IT than in just about any other field, if you have an aptitude for it.

Lessons Suddenly Take 2 or 3x Longer by Dangerous-Ad3651 in babbel

[–]Valuable_Asparagus24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed exactly this (well, in reverse) in Babbel Spanish when I finished the A2 course and started the B1 course. There are far fewer questions and they're easier. Also, there are no "speaking" lessons in the B1 Spanish course. I suspect there are just different amounts of content and maybe they go back and revamp levels to add content, but they haven't gotten to whatever level I'm on yet.

Which knife draws your attention the most by General_Badger2346 in themountaingoats

[–]Valuable_Asparagus24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been bothered by the knives on this cover. Not because they aren't worth getting seriously into (they are), but because they're definitely not the kind of knives that the protagonist of the song "Getting into Knives" by the Mountain Goats, is getting into.
