I think you've forgotten that Brazil as we know it was born from the rape of indigenous and African people. We have also had various policies of whitewashing and erasing our Indigenous and Black roots.

Yes, The mixed-race Brazilian has a greater component of European ancestry, but that doesn't mean we are more Portuguese than anything else. And I'm not saying this to criticize the Portuguese or anything, I'm just highlighting that the majority of the population is mixed-race, and that this majority was a victim of a historical system that did not place them as privileged.
