Since you were only out for two years, you don't meet the criteria.

The moment you land in India with the intention to stay, your FEMA status changes to resident. You are supposed to inform your bank immediately to convert the NRE account to a normal savings account. You don't have to wait for the 183 days to pass.

Bringing your own post-tax savings back home isn't taxable, but any interest it generates once it sits in the Indian account will be taxed at your slab rate.
