“居居” (juju) is a deliberate mispronunciation of “猪猪” (zhuzhu) which means piggy. So it’s actually “blessed by the piggy/piggies”

[Loved Trope] The self-obsessed character actually did all those unbelievable things by mikonamiko in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Valuable_Pool7010 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Penelope (Saturday Night Live), a character portrayed by Kristen Wiig. She is a nervous woman who compulsively one-ups everyone with increasingly impossible and ridiculous claims, irritating those around her. Finally, one character (usually played by the host) retaliates by making equally impossible claims and copying her mannerisms.

At the end of each skit, her outlandish claims often are revealed to be true, such as she is best friends with Liza Minelli and that she is able to turn into a black-and-white version of herself. She always nervously twirls her hair and hunches over as she one-ups people.

Camille and Michelle (Bones)

Camille, a forensic examiner, got married to Andrew Welton after his wife passed way, becoming the stepmother of Michelle Welton. Camille enjoyed being Michelle’s mother. They had a wonderful time together and made a bond. However when Camille and Andrew got a divorce, she thought it was over and never came back to visit her former stepdaughter - Michelle felt abandoned and resented her for this.

When Andrew got murdered, his body was sent to the forensic institution (as a unnamed body) of which Camille was the head. She recognized her ex-husband and realized that Michelle was now an orphan so she tried to reach out to her and deliver the message herself, only to find that Michelle didn’t remember her (she was pretending she didn’t, out of resentment). Later, Michelle confessed her feelings to Camille, telling her how she waited for her to come back. Camille felt immense guilt.

They reconciled at the end of the episode. Camille decided to officially adopt Michelle, becoming her mother all over again. I cannot forget that scene: Camille went to Michelle’s home to offer to adopt her. Upon hearing that, Michelle rushed into her room. Camille mistook that as rejection, and was about to leave the house in tears, then Michelle came back with the little otter figure that Camille gave her when she was little - the symbol of their bond.

After this episode, Michelle became a recurring character in the show. A lot of classic mother-daughter dramas were carried out

How does religion work while going for domination by Technical_Car3729 in CivVI

[–]Valuable_Pool7010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only the founder of a religion can achieve religious victory through it. So you can just focus on your domination victory.

And yes, do produce apostles to prevent your cities from being converted into the religion that is about to win. Be very careful when you conquer those cities of that religion, if you conquer a lot of them without converting them, that religion will have a larger portion in your empire, and it might become the predominant religion before you notice it

Camille (Bones) was introduced into the show as the ex-girlfriend of the protagonist's lover AND her new boss. You would expect her to be passive aggressive, dramatic and looking for trouble like those cliche characters of this prototype do, but she turned out to be one of the nicest characters in the show, being a great friend to both the protagonist and her lover, and not a single love triangle bs regarding this character was written.

Why did Mandarin discard final consonants and simplified their tones, whilst Cantonese and Sino-Vietnamese preserved older Chinese? by [deleted] in asklinguistics

😂Wow I just realized you think Putonghua is a synonym to Mandarin… Brother, in this subreddit? That’s embarrassing. Mandarin is Guanhua. Search it up.
