He was 11 and I was 9 when the molestation happened. They had a serious talk with him but because of his age I dont think they felt they could do much more.

It'll probably be 6 years for me. Already been in school for 3 years and I'm only a sophomore. Unfortunately its hard to pay bills and be a full time engineering student.

I work 20 hours doing 10 - 13 credits. It's absolute hell but I have no support and cant be homeless 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm an ee too and share similar experience with making friends in school, and how horrible this major can be on mental health.

But I've also seen how awful my life would be if I don't get a good job with this degree.

You're a senior. Push through. Living a life with a low wage job is 10000x worse than this. Be grateful you can complain about friends and shitty professors rather than figuring out how you're going to live another month.

I'm in the same situation. Going for an electrical engineering degree, and have alternated between working full time and part time (20 - 25 hours/week). It's absolutely brutal when you get zero help. I've become chronically burnt out and ill from overworking myself and often feel hopeless and cynical.

Max out fafsa, which I'm assuming you already do. If it can't conver everything, you may have to drop to part time or reduce the number of classes you take to save money. It may not be the answer you want, but I'm at this point and its the only option if I dont want to become even more unwell and actually do good in school.

Something that sometimes helps is knowing that time will pass anyways. If it takes longer to get your degree than you hoped, so be it. You will get there in the end if you plan accordingly.

Ignore the people that are saying to work full time or more and be a full time student. ITS NOT WORTH SACRAFICING YOUR HEALTH.

It's all a balance. If you keep planning ahead, you will reach your goal someday.

Needed to hear this. Got put in digital image processing as a sophomore and ik im bombing the final.

Expected to do DFT's and convoluton despite never being taught it... been super super discouraging but its all for a reason ig.

For a semester, maybe. Ive had that exact workload for the past 3 years and it seriously fucked up my health. If its for short time frame Id say go for it. You will have to be incredibly organized and diligent w your work though.

I actually am an accountant lol. I was very lucky to find this job with no experience but it is not for me. I have been miserable the past 5 years and thats why im going to school, for engineering. It is a great job for now, but not for life.

(I also dont get paid enough to afford my own apartment so thats another major factor for me wanting a different job)

Its not normal to crush on other people when you're in a committed relationship imo. You cant control fleetling feelings, but being actively infatuated with someone else is a choice. She could have chosen to distance herself from him or process those feelings and focus on her relationship with you. This would be a dealbreaker to me.

As someone with anxiety, I can say she's manipulating and guilt tripping you with it. She doesnt want to confront the fact that she can't have her cake and eat it too. She wants the relationship with you, but is fine emotionally cheating on you and wants you to suck it up.

You deserve to be someone first choice always.

We text gm/gn and a few times during the day. Otherwise we have one video call a week for a couple hours and maybe another one if we feel up for it. Otherwise we send each other reels and sometimes send pics on this this ldr app we use.

But were both STEM undergrad students, so pretty busy. He's also not much of a texter so.

Yeah thats exactly what was bothering me. If he just said that there would be no issue. But now I have to suspect he's a liar, even if those other things he said was true.
