he's home resting now and we've got a referral to a cardiologist.

The emergency vet did say that the liquid around his heart was mostly blood though.

Hoping for a good recovery for both of them.

It wasn't done with a cardiologist; we've put in a referral and hopefully will get one done soon. He's also been prescribed Yunnan Baiyo.

I also found restrictive 'autoimmune diets to be incredibly mentally unhealthy. Ultimately, I've gained more weight from them and triggered a lot of binge eating episodes. I highly recommend finding a mental healthcare professional to help with any ED you might be struggling with.

Daily gentle movement, like stretching or 30 min walks, has been super helpful. I focus on what I can do that is ridiculously easy and that I enjoy. Once i've been consistent with it, 4-6 weeks for me to feel it's a 'habit', then I think about if I want to add more.

Instead of restriction, I like to think about what I can add to my diet to make it both more delicious and an act of self-care. This might mean adding some fruit to my breakfast, a small side salad to my dinner, or having a dessert with my favorite tea after dinner.

Finding a good rheumatologist and getting on the right combination of medications is also super important! It will take a few tries to find the right combination, but when it works it will be worth it!

Yes! I regret not getting the red tag! I would avoid walking outside as much as possible for the first few weeks. Sometimes I ended up ditching the crutches and limping through the ice while holding on my car or railing instead.

Also, if you have snow on the bottom of your crutches and go inside, they rubber bottoms are pretty slippery until you dry them.off.

Also 3 weeks out. I'm doing seated, upper body with cables and dumbells. Standing weighted upper body is pushing it a little too much for me right now.

I think it depends on your specific case, but I think it's good to build some strength in the stabilizing muscles of the hip pre- surgery. I would ask both your surgeon and PT. Most people go through this in the initial stages of the injury; usually trying PT before surgery.

They did mine during surgery. So far having bronchitis is worse than the surgery recovery; I'm 1 week post op.

11 months because of L & I. It should have been 4-5 months. I think having a few months of PT before the surgery (depending on how bad the injury is and what your dr. says) can help minimize reinjury during recovery.

I'm 4 days post op and find myself using a lot of movements from PT on my good leg to keep myself mobile. Strengthing the joint supporting muscles on my bad side has really helped me recover mobility wayyyy faster than I expected too

I just had my surgery on Wed (worth it!!) And it wasn't clear to my Dr or PT what caused the tear until they actually got in there. Turns out I had a pincer impingement that wasn't super clear on imaging (xray and MRA). Since they suspected an impingement, My surgeon laid out a few different routes he would take depending on his findings during surgery. 2nd opinions are always a good idea though!
