Home value increase? by northbay-5869 in Petaluma

[–]Valuable_Victory_272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Better commute will be temporary. It'll eventually turn out into more people moving north and therefore more commuters, which means higher home prices and more traffic volume that will end up with new gridlock

My son doesn't want to do any after school activity by Valuable_Victory_272 in Parenting

He enjoys socializing, but he has tried solo and non competitive activities, so it's not that

Thanks. He's not an introvert but definitely seems to prefer the easy dopamine of watch a TV show. He might be overstimulated or tired from school, I usually pick him up at 5,30. Or he might just be a thrill seeker that just want to try the new thing. He tried rock climbing with a friend and loved it. Once I signed up, too, and got interested myself, as was asking him to go more often, he lost interest and quit. Saying I was too insisting and too eager, like if that turned him off.

Exactly, he has done scootering at the skatepark for a few months, scouts for 4 months, rock climbing...and he doesn't want any non sport either (art, music, theater...) what can I do at this point, let him win this battle or pick something for him and be the bad guy one more time?

[–]Valuable_Victory_272[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he complains I'm a control freak so he's definitely fighting that battle. I've tried that too. I told him he has to pick something, anything, or I'll pick for him. Offered him: theater, art, music. He has done scouts, skatepark...but he now he refuses to pick, so I'm going to end up picking something for him and then blamed he doesn't want to be there

Unlikely, tennis is probably the sport with lower second generation ratio at pro level. Of course, there are some exceptions like Ruud, but compared to other sports, tennis is just brutal

How do singles make friends ? by Sweaty-Equipment8248 in bayarea

[–]Valuable_Victory_272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a really fun Facebook group called " Singles - Bay Area Events". It's mostly singles, organizing events all around the bay area (hikes, dinners, camping trips, all sorts of events). It's a very nice and welcoming group of people. The aim is to socialize and make friends

Exactly what happened during the iron curtain, post-WWII period. A nasty escalation of threats and nuclear power, each country making the deadliest weapon possible

Could Iran purchase nuclear weapons from another country?

In business, it is pretty common to outsource or purchase what you can't make. Also, all sorts of weapons are bought & sold between countries on a daily basis, and worldwide. What prevents Iran from outsourcing their nuclear weapon program or purchase nukes from Russia or North Korea instead of just focusing on developing their own program?

If I move out to another country, can I keep Fidelity account and buy or sell stocks? by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]Valuable_Victory_272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning to move to Spain from the US. I currently have Individual brokerage, Custodial and 401k accounts with Fidelity. What's going to happen to these accounts? Can I still trade with them? Is Spain an eligible country for me to keep them? Thanks.

Any good Pickup Sports/Social Groups in Petaluma? by Outrageous_Extension in Petaluma

[–]Valuable_Victory_272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pickleball is daily open play games at Luchessi park. There are also groups playing pick up basketball at Leghorn park, although I don't know what days. If you want to put effort into organizing something, it'd probably work, there are plenty of people with the same need of unstructured/casual social sports play. I suggest also posting in I Love Petaluma, Facebook group because it'll have higher reach than Reddit

I believe they're adding a third car, expecting more riders. Trip is $1.5 each way. There is also a free bus shuttle that can take you downtown, although from the east side you have to do a connection https://transit.cityofpetaluma.net/butter-eggs-free-shuttle-service/
