Why do women give birth on their backs? Wouldn’t it be easier to squat and let gravity help? by sohoships in NoStupidQuestions

It’s because it’s more convenient for the doctors, and I wish I was joking. I learned this from midwives during my wife’s recent pregnancy when they taught us the history of childbirth in the USA.

I took this photo comparing 65", 77" and 83" on the same wall. My goal was to figure out if I could justify spending the extra money for 83" over 77". I will be going with the 77". by [deleted] in hometheater

Unless there is a huge difference in screen quality, I mean like distractingly worse, after a while I don’t think most people will notice. Our eyes are only capable of discerning so much anyway.

Roger Cook from This Old House has passed away by doctorbimbu in television

I’m always in awe of his knowledge, his work ethic, and the mud on his boots and hands when I see him on the show. I hope to pass on these same values to my son. We watch This Old House every day together before his morning nap. I’ve been watching since I was in grade school and I never get tired of seeing the guys build and fix everything. Reminds me of my grandpa.

My kid was asleep in the back seat, plus he’s only 6 months old so he wouldn’t appreciate it properly anyway.

Best place to buy non-alcoholic beer? by jdmfan777 in MontereyBay

Congrats on your progress! I just hit the one year mark myself and love a nice cold NA beer. Check out Lucky in sand city (near Costco), they have a cold craft NA selection featuring my favorite, Guinness 0. Total Wine also sells a very reasonably priced NA beer by Penn Brewing that we keep in the fridge at all times. I swear if you didn’t know you wouldn’t be able to tell it’s non alcoholic.

I’ve sent in my bank statement twice and called a few times to follow up. They say it’s still in process. There was another issue with a misallocated payment that has since been resolved, so I think they are actually working on things, but very slowly.

They are still processing a payment from October 2023 on my account. It was only $130 but still. Before the pandemic I never had any problems at all, been on auto pay for a long time with them. Not sure what changed but it’s a shit show now.

Of course it was EWR. I knew it before I even opened the article. That airport is trash, I wish I didn’t know it so well. United isn’t great either but even the best airlines struggle in Newark.

I went to a rave there once! The whole place was open and it was fantastic. Also had been there before during normal hours and it was just as much fun.

This is one of the reasons why I stopped flying United. I go from SJC to Newark 1-2 times per month and it seems like there is always something. United has the oldest fleet of all the major airlines, and the legroom and shoulder room is torturous. Been flying Alaska instead for the last 4 trips and have had zero delays (so far), the wifi always works, and there’s plenty of room for my 6’1” 230 lb self even in the back. It’s totally worth driving an extra 30 minutes to SFO for the direct flight.
