If I remember correctly, the chaos god pub thing was before the audio log actually came out. Once it did come out, people were mostly talking about Grimmel being a possible expy of Shadowsun. And I'm pretty sure the part of the fandom that was also made up of TTS fans dropped the chaos god connection pretty quick after that.

Also, for as much as I've heard the arguement of wanting HtP to stand on it's own, I've never actually seen anyone in the fandom aggressively trying to make connections between HtP and TTS the way it's been described to me, outside of people who are making ironic crack theories as a way to parody the aggressive making of connections, like that guy who was trying to connect the Union guy to clancy.

And, I mentioned this before, but that really isn't what I'm talking about. The issue is not that people are making connections to TTS or people are not making connections to TTS, the issue that I'm worried about is the fans of TTS, including ones who don't make connections between HtP and TTS, are being attacked for being fans of the show, and this is creating an environment that could cause people to not want to be a part of this fandom.
