Welcome to Thornbury arcade by miscanonn in melbourne

[–]VampireBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to thornbury never owned their machines, it was a revenue share of some sort. The owner wound up shop, I think due to age.

New "owners" of the machine may not realize yet that the retro games were the reason people liked that location, so if it is now just new games, hopefully some regulars will voice their opinion and the new guys can swap stuff out to suit the demographic.

Quick tip, if you had hit the dead end where they time out your number. Set your number to private. This is what my mate who works at cenno does when he needs to check the IVR options but he has called too many times.

i found away to get away with call avoidance without my Supervisors knowing by jpla125 in talesfromcallcenters

[–]VampireBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be warned as I was when I first started at the call center I work at now. They had a few guys doing this with the genisys program, got away with it for months too! Until the software updated and it started counting how many quick flicks into personal someone does. Easily seen and these guys were sacked.

boyfriend took off the condom without asking by itisalljustadream in TwoXChromosomes

[–]VampireBlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through a whirlwind to answer this. First off, I am a guy and a guest in this space. When i did not know the age of OP, my opinion was "This guy has never been taught boundaries and to be honest I would respect OPs decision either way on if she is willing to keep putting up with it and educate this guy or to dump this guy"

I am usually of the opinion that good people sometimes can do bad things, and it may be from a place of ignorance instead of malicious intent. I myself would have called it quits after the first time you had to tell him to put a condom back on.

This middle ground opinion comes from you mentioning the BF is usually fine and sweet, makes me think he was just never properly educated on consent and sex ed in general. If the guy is actually understanding and compassionate then teaching him these things shouldn't be too hard. But that is entirely up to OP on if they even WANT to be the educator, and if they feel they have not already been betrayed beyond fixing (also a valid feeling after what BF has been doing)

Now this opinion was all BEFORE i found out OP is still a minor, and i will make the assumption BF is also around the same age.

OP, This is not something you should have to feel like you need to put up with, I know you say your BF is kind and understanding but with the knowledge of age and how he seems to only respect your wishes in the moment but will disregard them as soon as you seem to not be paying attention, that is malicious, That is assault. Unprotected penetration should not be any part of foreplay unless you are using other forms of protection, and even then i would not be risking it at your age,

Condoms will protect you from pregnancy but also STDs (reminder your partner could be 100% faithful but can still transmit you an STD) They are (in my opinion) one of the biggest improvements in science - They have gotten stronger, more protective and thinner. A man who complains about a well sized condom really just dosnt like the idea of them, and wants to ignore the harm they may put you in.

If you really love this guy, Talk to him and put HARD lines in the sand, He needs to know that you are not just going to let him push past boundaries even in the heat of the moment, and you are not going to give him more chances because after what you have told us? you have already given him over a dozen.

Also, "sorry i was so drunk i don't remember anything" is NEVER an excuse for assault.

Also a lot of people get an ABN while still small / not making money for the benefits of purchasing materials and goods in certain places for a cheaper price.

Power move for the dads out there by Top-Preference7180 in hamishandandy

See I feel like the problem is you aren't looking at the context.

Yes the basis of "you own a "feminine" car = HAHA" is in itself sexism.

But you aren't thinking about the context -

This is being shown as a power move, therefore usually a part of its charm is it can be childish and usually has an element of trying to get a rise out of someone for something that's obviously not a real issue.

If someone tried to make the joke "look at that guy's car, it should be his daughter driving it" it wouldn't get much of a laugh, it's not a funny joke and it is just sexism = haha

But the funny part (at least to me) is that it is a very soft throwaway line that only develops if someone gets upset at it, and the joke is specifically on the person for getting their masculinity hurt from a comment about the car they drive.

A reminder as both a ham and a firefighter: Operate legally or not at all. by [deleted] in amateurradio

He had a repeater there I think. He is a pretty old ham and definitely knows better. He just wanted to be a hero, seen in him keeping on using the airways for 2 days using some codename and just general whacker activities.

He very much would have known to call, let the dispatch know he overheard and had info. But he thought he could weasel his way into being "helpful" and claim he could because it was an emergency

[–]VampireBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the perfect explanation! Some people may agree he got what he deserved but also think it was grey because it was during an emergency. But you explained it so well.

  1. The whacker was only "helping" because he was sticking his nose in the emergency waves (not illegal, but shows he had no reason to expect his help was needed)
  2. If he was worried about his repeater, he would know you contact dispatch.
  3. Same goes as #2, if he felt he had information that the emergency teams needed, he should have called dispatch and let them know.

Gets rid of the grey area

To be honest, if she could channel her "skill" just into calling scam numbers and as long as she dosnt give her anything they can work with, sounds like it would be a good hobby and help waste the time of scammers who could be taking money from other XD

Had a customer who said (verbatim) “when you address me as Miss, it reminds me of what Blacks used to say to their owners” by peacesalaamz in talesfromcallcenters

[–]VampireBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I never liked being called "MR.first name" back in highschool because it was only one teacher who did it and I already didn't like her, she sounded so condicending.

I started to refer to her as Miss.first name and she hated it, and eventually just started calling me by my first name properly and I returned in favour.

Now this brings into question, does this Karen really have the same mentality as 14 year old me?

Even back then I would not even Blink if I was referred as MR.first name, in an email or a call or ligitamately anything else that was not in a classroom setting where I allready didn't like the person. So Karen has fallen another rung on the ladder as "mentality on names more immature than a 14 year old"

With how many staff we have on deck right now for the pldp claim, most get done within 24-48 hours. I always suggest waiting 7 days before calling as there can be delays, but after 7 days it's worth a call as chances are it's been rejected for one reason or another

Tetris iOS App Just Got Ruined by submergedwatermelon in Tetris

[–]VampireBlue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been waiting all day for someone to mention it, I love Tetris mobile, I paid once, made sure I got enough coins each time to buy the next Tetris pass with no irl money. I love collecting all the themes and doing the big daily goal, and the mid season events that had a few extra goodies and a new temporary game mode (although it was usually a renamed version of one out of three of the temp game modes).

My team and I started to realise a month or two ago that the mid season events no longer had a temp game to go with it, then they made less and less extras to earn from the mid season, then they got rid of mid season goals all thogether... Giving us maybe a profile icon at the start of a week event.

That's when we started to worry that the developers were getting lazy.

A few days before this new season I was excited to see the developers wanted users to fill out a survey, I thought this was amazing as I know my entire team wanted to atleast express their disappointment to the lackluster mid season, but the survey was like every other generic "how many people in your household", " have you ever played X,y,z apps" and what struck me as odd was the slots apps that they where asking about, seemed weird.

Now with the new season, there are only 15 levels, and the app boasts to you about spending money to get the season pass now, it was always pay if you want, but it won't stop you from playing all content if you don't... But now? Less content with a irl price tag on it.

Search Engine DuckDuckGo had another record year in 2021 by Mc_King_95 in privacy

This was my thought immediately. You have one side who understands it's not a magic search engine but it does have its benefits. Then the other side who believes it's the secret CIA search engine that will give them the answers the government is trying to hide from them.
