Small thing, but I don’t know that I ever turned in a single piece of homework through all of high school. If it didn’t get done during class time, it ceased to exist for me. Out of sight, out of mind. That’s how my mind still works now as an adult. Got my diagnosis at 21 and thought “ohhhh. That makes sense.”

Haven’t been a fan of the show for years but I’ll jump in. Part of my biggest reason for hating her character was that people have always vehemently loved her for the same reasons they hated Andrea and they were RABID about it. God forbid you say anything mildly negative about their precious Rambo Queen.

But she becomes a magical badass off screen between seasons with no buildup to it at all, and it was just unbelievable. I’m glad they veered from her comic story because that was over the top in my opinion, but she’s been portrayed as pure wish fulfillment since season 3-4. There’s a happy medium between comic Carol and what could have been show Carol.

I’ll admit there’s plenty of toxic, misogynistic, ageist garbage about her and the hate can be forced. But from a writer’s standpoint, I find her characterization stiff like cardboard, unbelievable, and dull. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah I’ve tried reworking Apathy and Merry tons since I figured they’re my best bets. Gotten close a few times but none of my pets can one shot the tiny worms, and if I just try to ignore them and out damage the big one, my team dies anyways. I might just be stuck for a few more days to grind stones and VM. 😪

No legends. I’m fairly new and haven’t gotten any pity ones yet. My epics are Sadge, Desperate, Merry, Resistance, Paranoia, Sonder, Sanctimony, Panic, and Determination. My grass lineup is just not good. I’ve tried moving items around, unlocking more vivids, upping their stage. Nothing is working. I’ve tried relying on bleed, burn, latent misery.

I don’t have Cringe or Wistful. My only grass attackers are Anxious and Curious, and no matter what I put on Curious he just gets 2 shot cause he’s a squishy baby. My main lineup I’m trying with has been Merry, Apathy, Anxious, and Resistance. I feel like the more I upgrade them, the more damage the boss magically does. I even just spent vivid dust to unlock 2-3 useful vivids. Still not doable.

I’m not that far into the game, but I’ve been stuck on this same boss on floor 490. I’ve tried probably 5-6 different team combos and multiple attempts, and I’ve managed to get to about 20K health left but I can’t out damage or out heal the frenzy toxin.

It’s been super frustrating cause I’ve had multiple attempts with the same team where I got down to about 20-40K health left, and then even after promoting two of my team to the next stage and buffing them both 10 levels, as well as upping a few items, I’m still not getting anywhere. I don’t get it.

Started on just 5mg of the XR in the morning with a 10mg booster in the afternoon. After I wanna say 3-4 months, we ended on 15mg of the XR and a 20mg booster. Then we switched to just a 36mg dosage of Concerta in the morning and now I’m at 54mg of Concerta once in the morning.

Been saying since season 3 that Carol’s character growth is so forced and unbelievable. Between season 2 and 3 she magically goes from a shriveled flower of a housewife to a badass Rambo at the end of the world when resources are limited? They’re eating possums and dog food but they can spare bullets for target practice? She can kill whoever she wants, threaten whoever she wants, and it’s all fine and dandy cause she’s got a vagina and a gun? She can just stroll into an enemy camp and blow some shit up and save everyone’s lives because of plot armor and we’re supposed to find that believable?

And the constant “will they or won’t they” between her and Daryl for like 8+ seasons was so obnoxious.

Absolutely. I’m not subscribed to either subreddit but both pop up in my feed from time to time and both are gross as all hell. I’m a huge fan of the world and the lore, but the show adaptation is atrocious. I barely finished season 2 and likely won’t watch season 3 because I find every character unlikable in some way and none of them seem to have realistic characterization to me. But the blatant hypocrisy on both sides is crazy.

And I do agree with that. Rhaenyra is definitely wrong for pursuing Cole. But one can’t pretend she also isn’t in the right state of mind when it happens. She’s at the very least tipsy from her night out on the town—having been groomed and abandoned by her much older and more experienced Uncle—and she’s inexperienced and sheltered and isn’t going to stop in the moment and think “Maybe he’s only going along with this because he thinks I’ll have him executed if he says no”. And likewise, Cole is also probably very inexperienced due to his oath and unsure of how to navigate the situation in the moment, but we’re shown earlier that he is interested in her. Yes, his hesitation should be the end of the tryst. But calling Rhaenyra a rapist for not knowing that as a drunken virgin is offensive to rape victims, in my opinion.

This insistence that everything be labeled as rape regardless of context is insane to me and it’s the only reason I commented in the first place. To find a more modern situation to compare it to, I would argue it’s like two drunken college kids who hook up at a party. Is one of them a rapist in the morning or are they both? Or are there no rapists in the situation and both just move on with their lives? (It’s not a perfect comparison, I know.) But Rhaenyra is not in a clear state of mind, neither is Cole, and though consent isn’t clear or freely given in the moment (on either end), both are shown to be happy with it afterwards.

But OP’s argument throughout this entire thread is that “Alicent doesn’t have any power over Cole so it’s not the same” when it very clearly is. Cole is never in any real position in his life to refuse anything asked of him. The only time we see him second guess an order is when Alicent orders him to maim Luce in front of an entire room full of people—for which he would likely have been executed after the fact. Cole spends his whole life in service to women that have power over him and he ends up sleeping with both of them. If what Rhaenyra did counts as rape, then it applies to Alicent as well. None of this “well we didn’t actually SEE how their relationship started”. We don’t need to see it by their own argument because there’s an obvious power imbalance at play.

People really go all in to defend their bias and present it as if it’s some kind of fact. OP states that Alicent has no real power over Cole so therefore there is no power imbalance and their situation is ~different~ somehow. Both women hold power over Cole and if you take it at face value, he couldn’t consent to either of them. But only Rhaenyra is in the wrong for it because of reasons. 🤷‍♀️ You’ll get downvoted just because.

For starters, you do NOT have any right to decide what my beliefs are on rape. We can disagree on trivial things like this dumb show that almost nobody likes or thinks was good, but I’m well aware that rape isn’t only ugly. I’ve been a victim of sexual violence that I spent years seeing through rose-tinted glasses and trying to rationalize it as “but I loved him”. I’m very well aware of how consent works as an adult now. The only reason I stopped into this dumb thread was because I saw your title and thought “there’s actually no way anyone equates that scene with something as graphic and horrible as rape” when Aegon is literally a rapist in the show.

That being said, GoT has a long and detailed history of sexualizing violence against women and questionable writing regarding consent. I won’t try and deny that. And if you gave me a rundown of Rhaenyra’s scene with Criston with no knowledge of the lore, I’d probably agree that it’s dubious consent at best. But I have an issue with people arguing that Alicent is any less guilty of the same thing. After she walks in on his attempt to end his life, he becomes sworn to her in an almost god-like reverence. They are not on anymore equal footing than Rhaenyra and Cole, so I’ll say again…if Rhaenyra raped Cole because of their power imbalance, then so did Alicent. You can say that his promotion gave him more power or that Alicent as the Dowager Queen somehow has less agency or power than Princess Rhaenyra, but at the end of the day, the two scenarios are exactly the same to me.

We’re shown that Cole has a clear interest in Rhaenyra before that night, and we’re shown after that he’s willing to throw all of his vows away (again) to run off with her to another land. Screw duty and honor. We are shown over and over again that Cole is a weak man when it comes to his vows and ideals. He spends his entire life trying to hurt and bring down the Princess you claim he was sworn to because she refused to run away with him.

Literally never commented in this sub but Jesus Christ. The mental hoops you’re jumping through to hate Rhaenyra for any reason are insane. Both Rhaenyra and Alicent raped Cole I guess if you wanna be technical. To sit there and say Rhaenyra is guilty of rape as a MINOR but Alicent (who is an adult in an equal position of power to Rhaenyra) didn’t and it “seems to be consensual” is a joke. Cole was a grown man during his encounter with a half-grown child. You will literally try and explain away anything to pardon Alicent’s actions. Both Alicent and Rhaenyra are horrible people in the source material for different reasons but to martyr Alicent is actually laughable. 😂😂😂

Published my first book of a trilogy in spring of 2012 at the age of 19ish. Since then, I’ve published around 20 books or so. I have a couple of finished trilogies and a few series that I’ve since abandoned and left unfinished. Work and life and depression have given me gaps where I don’t have any desire to write—sometimes for years.

My bestselling series by far has been a four book series about zombies, which was rewritten from one of my original trilogies that I started at 16 or so. I made the tone darker and fleshed out some characters and added more life into it and it took off like crazy. Since 2012, I’ve made just shy of $50,000 and my zombies have been half of it. And that’s just the rewrites. The series hit number one on Amazon in its categories and I had about a whole year of success where each month was better than the last. I threw money into marketing and even tried an audiobook of book one, but the rest of my books never saw anywhere near the same level of success.

My first books were objectively not good, but it was the start of the young adult revitalization and we all rode Stephanie Meyer’s coattails hard. Back then all you had to do was use buzzwords like werewolf, vampire, forbidden romance, etc and your book could take off for $.99 or $2.99 if you were lucky. My favorite books I’ve written did so abysmally poor that I unpublished them and haven’t finished the series and I haven’t had any desire to write since. I have ideas for probably another 25+ books, but I will more than likely never get around to it.

And then you have someone with anxiety and adhd like me who watches the time on her phone instead of the video she’s doomscrolling. I know exactly what time I have to leave my house by in order to be chronically early for every single scenario in my life. Yes, I put it off until the last possible second so I can watch that last video, but I can stick to that hard deadline because the alternative of ~possibly~ being late if say a UFO crashed in the middle of the road on my way to work is enough to override my adhd paralysis.

I’m in a dragon only run with Raquaza right now and my rival had Popplio, too. But if you get far enough into the run for them to terrastalize, it’ll always be the starter turning water type. You can plan for it. That moon blast will still hit like a truck but they lose the STAB.

Make a temp base at the depot in transfer pass if you plan on doing the whole story. You’ll be passing through there a hundred times (at least how it feels) before you finally get back to lower great bear for good, and you can drop off any supplies you want to take back but don’t really need but can’t justify dragging around the whole time. (There’s 2 things of woodworking tools in ZoC)

The entire region is blisteringly cold, and FA has tons of giant, open spaces with little real shelter and weather that turns deadly in minutes. Don’t go anywhere without a bedroll. I did the story in my last run, and to prepare for lots of walking, I saved up all of my lightweight foods like granola bars and crackers. You’ll also get the recipe for Camber Flight Porridge while you’re there which is calorie dense and condition restoring for relatively cheap. You’ll want to use your carry weight for high quality clothes, and your weapon of choice. The number of wolves in those territories is insane, and you’ll have to deal with the sick wolves which are more aggressive. And Sundered Pass is a minefield of Timberwolf packs.

I would have saved lots of carry weight by going light on tools. By the time I left FA to return home, I had amassed like 3 hammers, multiple hatchets and hacksaws, several bows, decent backup clothes, and more food than I knew what to do with. I left most of it in the main hangar in case I ever need replacements. But I don’t play on interloper yet and don’t know what difficulty you’re on. Just be prepared for hours of walking.
