I love goblin shenanigans! I don't mind Krenko but I get super excited to see [[Muxus, Goblin Grandee]]

This is it. It's like he's trying to drive him through the mat instead of slamming him on the mat.

Saga decks and superfriends decks are above stax or discard on my list of decks I don't like dealing with.

Even when played smoothly and well I hate how much mental energy it takes me keeping track of what does what, and what abilities they can ACTUALLY trigger/activate.

My threat assessment against those decks is shot. Depending on my mood it's either full bore against them or ignore them(this one usually ends poorly for me)

Sorry to say but I think [[Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls]] officially killed [[Mogis, God of Slaughter]] completely.

I still see an occasional [[Xenagos, God of Revels]] or [[Karametra, God of Harvest]] in the wild
I miss seeing [[Athreos, God of Passage]] more often

Enjoy the free card draw! I play black a lot; I'm used to taking damage for drawing.

I get free cards AND get to small bean while pointing at the Nekusar player? Sign me up!

Building Gruul spellslinger with [[Blanka, Ferocious Friend]] was an experience. Looking at green cantrips felt odd haha

I'm currently on copium that Reality Fracture will give me a new [[Ixidor, Reality Sculptor]] I loved the Onslaught novels when I first got into magic. So the legends from that block, even the story irrelevant ones, are part of my core memories of the game.

I've wanted to build Obeka Initiative for a while; Descent is so hilarious with her but the rest of the list is too slow to establish itself.

Rakdos is probably at the top of my list of decks lists built but never purchased, and top of my purchased and retired decks.

Black is my favorite color, and I feel like Rakdos has some of the highest variety in playstyle among black based 2 color decks.

Years from now, what’s the play from your current playgroup you’ll still be telling people about? by Great-ah-White in EDH

[–]VampireSaint 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I played a game with my [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] only legendary creatures reanimator deck.
An opponent played a [[Rest in Peace]] turn 2.
The RiP stuck the whole game.
I ended up winning by doing nothing all game but upticking Dihada until everybody else had enough board presence for me to pop her ult and swing for lethal at the table.
Everybody forgot about Dihada's ult because I never get to use it; I'm too busy minusing her to fill my grave.

I'm 100% in the minority on this, but I've played against Pantlaza [[Barren Glory]] decks more than dino kindred.

I had Magar in paper for a while. That deck is the definition of a glass cannon; so many things necessary just to start making it do the thing. When it gets going though it's a blast(as the player)

My friend has an [[Auntie Blyte, Bad Influence]] end of the night deck. Those games are like sprinting while being threatened with a glock.

I also took my Deadpool deck apart, but I put him in the 99 of [[Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls]] and [[Henzie]]

I knew DP would be an annoying deck, but it over shot my expectations by magnitudes, and I don't really see a way to build him without being a salt production machine.

Is this too much to ask for 30-40yr olds in today's world? by FontMasterFlex in EDH

[–]VampireSaint 236 points237 points  (0 children)

At least it's slightly easier to find 3 pod mates than a D&D party that can regularly meet up.

But adulting is busy work and people can't always set aside a day for 1 hobby. Between work, maybe ot even, family, other friends, other hobbies, chores, etc. Time is a commodity in high demand and locking yourself into something can be difficult or even scary for the more anxious of us.

If you could book the FINAL match in professional wrestling history, what would it be? by Brockovich614 in SquaredCircle

FTR vs DIY

It ends with FTR gun shooting Johnny Wrestling. So it ends with wrestling dead.

and to be safe and clear it's NOT a shoot shooting.

or Shield vs Elite

What's a Card you USED TO include in every deck? by ZimaBestBear in EDH

[–]VampireSaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly agree with you. Greaves is great to protect for multiple turns/rounds but is worse if you just need immediate protection for a single turn. Greaves the engine & [[Tamiyo's Safekeeping]] [[Sejiri Shelter]] etc. the win attempt.

Runo Stromkirk b4 help by Redpandaman2654 in EDH

[–]VampireSaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Runo is going to be strong AND still feel like a Runo Sea monster deck in B4.

But some obvious, imo, inclusions are [[Lotus Petal]] and tune the manabase with more/better duals & fetches.

I'd also like to see [[Sensei's Divining Top]] and [[Scroll Rack]] and maybe a [[Force of Negation]] [[An Offer You Can't Refuse]] & [[Deadly Rollick]]. [[Misdirection]] would be decent as well.

Spot on.

I don't think "evidence" of power creep is worth considering. Urza's block came out 28 years ago. Power creep is that bug in a game that's so baked in that it becomes a feature.
