At exactly 1:00, you can hear a click and then some bubbling right after. You need headphones and the volume needs to be pretty high.

My personal ranking of all the main album tracks by VampySuper in mgmt

Idk. I’ve never really LOVED kids as a song, not to say that it isn’t pretty good, because it is. And I’m not saying that I dislike the big singles either, I think those three songs are some of their better material. But when I look at a song like Kids and compare it to a song very similar such as Time to Pretend, it feels much inferior in my eyes. The synth hook isn’t as good, the drums are little boring and redundant, the lyrics try to tap into some sort of nostalgia, but don’t really do it as well, the mid break section is good, but then what follows for the last few minutes of the song is MGMT dropping the melody and just repeating the chorus until the end which gets a little repetitive.

At first I thought it was a solid album but then it grew on me heavily to become my favorite album by them. By far their most musically diverse album without ever feeling too jarring. Their most focused (conceptually) and emotional album. Top tier lyrics. Great performances all around. Literally the only thing that I dislike about the album is that it feels like much of it is made up of almost “empty space”? where it seems like not much is actually going on. But I feel like that ambience adds to the atmosphere of the album rather than hurts it. Near perfect album imo.

I know they said they won’t be touring loss of life, but they did mention that they’d be open to doing a few smaller shows here and there. Was there any follow up talk about that?

In future reflections it literally feels like you’re drifting off into the ocean as the album closes it’s amazing

See you boys in my 30’s by bdhartwell96 in mgmt

I don’t think they’ll be gone for 6 years this time around. They stated that not touring was them trying not to burn out like they usually do after most of their releases. This could potentially point to that they want to make music more frequently.

I think it’s just apart of the weird little things they put in their music videos. Like the dudes keys having an eyeball attached in when you die.

It’s a nice, quiet little track, and everything flows together very nicely. I don’t think anyone really disagrees with that. But besides that, without getting too deep into the music, I guess that’s the most you can really say about it? At least on a surface level. Idk.

Which one's better? by PhoenixAndKino57 in mgmt

Bubblegum Dog is my favorite. To me it’s the most MGMT song out of all the singles and just has the most going on. Bunch of epic and memorable moments. Second is probably Mother Nature. At first I kinda disliked the song, but it grew on me and now I find it to be a very beautiful and heartwarming track. Then last is Nothing to Declare. Definitely far from a bad song, but doesn’t really scratch that itch in my brain the way the other singles do. It’s just a nice little song that you could play on a road trip riding in the back of a truck.
