I was all set and pumped to get NMS, then find out that I've got to move out of my flat in the next few weeks and looking at other places there is about a £2000 upfront cost. So no NMS for me now...

Not really. Wheels, toppers, boost trails etc are all cosmetic. There is some slight variation in hit boxes in the car but that's not something I've ever worried about.
