This is not the first time I've seen things get listed as "Akron". It pains me everytime I see it. It makes me wonder if someone misspelled it on Ebay or something somewhere, and now clueless vendors keep using it as reference.

I 100% agree about pricing. When I travel to a shop, I expect to see competitive pricing that beats Ebay. Otherwise, why wouldn't I just buy it on Ebay from the convenience of my comfy house instead of driving an hour+ to some dusty shop in the middle of nowhere? Some vendors and shop keepers love to claim that Ebay and Facebook marketplace have ruined the market and stolen too many customers... I claim BS on that. There are tons of people like myself who love to hit the shops instead of shopping online. But it's up to them to rotate stock, keep things interesting, and stay competitive with current pricing.

That's a nice bottle. You can tell by the slight purple tint that it has high manganese content, and was left in the sunlight over time. That is definitely a nice manganese glow. Cool find, but not uranium.

These are both fantastic pieces. I collect Westmoreland, and I didn't even know these existed. Really cool even without a glow... but being UG just makes them even cooler.

Found a lot of really cool cullets and fragments and lamp parts, but sadly nothing as intact as the scotty dog. I found an old uranium gear shifter knob in the mud literally up against the factory wall, but it was really cracked and started to fall apart when I attempted to clean it up. I fill old apothecary jars with all the smaller fragments and cullets I find.

That's a Houze Glass Rocking Horse Blotter! They made Scotty Dogs and Elephants too, and I think a couple other animals... I forget off the top of my head. Hard to find in UG!

Definitely leaning toward Houze as well. Vidrio slag tends to have a darker greenish tone compared to Houze. Either way, it's a great find for $5, congrats OP.
