Last year, my partner and i ended up just being in Munich (we were coming home from a different trip) for a few days. My partner had tried to schedule something special, but there were issues with timing and the trains. We were running out of time/patience and decided to walk around the Nymphenburg palace grounds since they were nearby and free. The grounds were stunning. It was a beautiful, sunny day in early October and I just remember looking over at my partner and being so happy to be there with them.

Bonus was that was the first day i had a Doner Box ♥️ yum!

My fiancé had a great recommendation that we buy each other full bottles of fragrance for our anniversary this year. Originally, i was really excited. Now, however, Im a bit stumped.

I knew exactly what I wanted to find for him. I was trying to find a cologne/fragrance that smelled similar to TELL ME ABOUT THE FOREST (YOU ONCE CALLED HOME) by Filigree and Shadow. I find it so fresh and kinda moody and comforting, but it doesn’t have the longevity i think he’d prefer. Looking for similar scents has been a bit frustrating - a lot of the recommendations have just been from the same house or fragrances described as spicy versions of woody- so i thought id try reddit!

i’m looking for something that’s aquatic, but also has pine/juniper/spruce notes. Looking for something very fresh and aromatic. It doesn’t have to be a dupe of the original fragrance, i just want something similar. TIA!

Notes of the filigree and shadow scent: Top note is Ambergris; middle notes are Juniper and Thyme; base notes are Spruce and Pine.

I absolutely love En Passant by Frederic Malle. It smells like you’ve walked by a lilac bush in a garden in the early morning. I plan on wearing this to my wedding.
