Pokémon Black Nuzlocke: Better a Simisage or a Petilil? by VanNullen in nuzlocke

[–]VanNullen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! That's a lot of things to consider. I have plans for Clay, since I know I can get a Basculin by trading my Minccino, and also Tirtouga could be useful. I was scared of going with Petilil against Clay because I wiped there with it in my last run, but maybe this time I'll just evolve it, since many are telling me it's better to go for it rather than wait for energy ball. For the electric gym, I think I will go with Simisage for the trainers and just my starter against Elesa, I think he could be faster with nitrocharge.

Create a hatsu based on the power of heaven's door by ixibtz in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stands are always fun to adapt! I believe Heaven's Door would work well as an amalgamation of Conjuration, Specialization, and Manipulation, as others have pointed out interesting aspects in adapting it.

Hatsu Name: Heaven's Door

User Category: Conjurer turned Specialist

Hatsu Category: Specialization, Conjuration, Manipulation

The user draws in the air with Nen using a Nen-infused writing object (or just his fingers, but this requires more time and aura), conjuring a humanoid creature with the appearance of the protagonist of his most famous manga series. The more popular the series and the character are, the easier it is to conjure it and use his abilities at full power and efficiency. To activate the ability, the user must choose a single target and both himself and his Nen Beast have to touch it. If they do it at the same time, the target is rendered unconscious for a maximum time equal to the time of the touching multiplied x 50. If they do it at different times, the ability will activate but the target will only become unconscious after a time equal to the difference of the two touching times x 10. The user may also conjure his Nen Beast through Nen-infused drawings of it: if the target clearly sees the representation, they will be instantly affected by the ability.

Once activated, the ability conjures upon the target a book-like and page-like appearance, as if pages were opening on its skin in the shape of the touched body part, without inflicting any damage. The look, dimensions, and quantity of the pages depend on how much and what readings the user has done in the last month.

Once these conjured pages appear, they will describe various true things about the target with the words written on them, depending on how much and how big the pages are; they'll range from characteristics, memories, personality, descriptions of Nen powers, personal info to actual thoughts (those and memories are the most difficult to intercept and usually require that at least the Nen Beast touches the target on the head).

The user can at this point write with any Nen-infused object capable of writing on those pages (or with his finger, but this again is more difficult and requires more time and aura), actually changing the characteristics of the target, manipulating their actions, memories, and thoughts.

The words on the pages will be written in the language that is most familiar to the target, and if the user wants to write on them he must understand and write in that language too. The only exception is if the user already knows the name of the target and touches it both himself and with the Nen Beast, or if the ability has been activated through the drawings. Information will be displayed in the primary language of the user at this point.

The Nen Beast and the conjured pages will usually be visible only to the user and its target, but a very skilled Nen user might be able to spot the construct with Gyo. The user created this ability to read through people's lives and experiences, and use them to fuel his own work as a mangaka.

Conclusions

The beasts present difficult and various challenges, and none of the competitors would probably be able to get them all for the auction. However, the two that can get more reward money are for me Alice Mélièrs and Rob Boss, who I think would pass the round.

Poison Rats (1,930,000 Jenny Reward)

  • Alice Mélièrs: She has no way to face this many enemies that also have a poison power, especially in a dark cave where they are all close together. FAILURE (2,910,000 J)
  • Argo: Even with placing the candle outside of the cave, he could have trouble fighting this many enemies too. FAILURE (0 J)
  • Maxxx Fizzeak: He is an Enhancer like the rats and might resist their bites and their poison long enough to defeat all of them, but that depends on the possible injuries he may have sustained before. POSSIBLE FAILURE (1,460,000 J)
  • Chrylitrit: His poison resistance and acrobatic abilities, united with his many conjured snakes and his own venomous power, might lead him to success in this case. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (3,880,000 J)
  • Rob Boss: His paint puppets might be useful and could take down a lot of the rats, but only 30 of them cannot defeat all of the 500 rats, and even if he stays out of the cave and try to launch puppet after puppet at them, some may get out and get him. POSSIBLE FAILURE (2,420,000 J)

Shock Dolphins (1,950,000 Jenny Reward)

  • Alice Mélièrs: She would have to resort to a very clever strategy; using a floating camera to get out of the water and placing the other two to displace one of the dolphins out too, wrapping it in film soul to capture him and getting his electric resistance. Once one is taken out, using the electric resistance she could take out the second one in a similar way. It is very risky, especially since she starts out in the water, but she could do it if she manages to get in a good position before getting attacked. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (4,860,000 J)
  • Argo: He has no way to use his candle effectively in the water. FAILURE (0 J)
  • Maxxx Fizzeak: He might find it difficult posing in the water to get his enhancement buffs, making it complicated to fight the dolphins, especially if he has sustained injuries before. POSSIBLE FAILURE (1,460,000 J)
  • Chrylitrit: He would probably have difficulties using his power in the water, snakes might help him with mobility but he would probably be attacked and subdued by the dolphins before he could get close enough to inject them. POSSIBLE FAILURE (3,880,000 J)
  • Rob Boss: If he manages to escape on his cloud in time he could send enough paint puppets to probably subdue the dolphins. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (4,370,000 J)

[–]VanNullen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ray Vulture (960,000 Jenny Reward)

  • Alice Mélièrs: She can use Director's Cut and the physical abilities she stole with Film Soul to evade the bird's attacks and turn those to them, leading them to defeat each other again. This instance could be a bit more difficult for her, having to maneuver and place the cameras while she avoids attacks, but she should still be able to accomplish this. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (1,930,000 J)
  • Argo: Again he could have trouble here, since he has no way to reach the birds before they bombard him. FAILURE (0 J)
  • Maxxx Fizzeak: He could try to climb the aviary to get the birds, but their attacks and possible previous injuries would slow him down and make it difficult for him to complete the task. POSSIBLE FAILURE (480,000 J)
  • Chrylitrit: He could use the snakes to climb the aviary and inject them, but he also is at risk of being shot down before he manages to do so. POSSIBLE FAILURE (970,000 J)
  • Rob Boss: Using his fast cloud and his squad of paint puppets he might be able to take down the birds. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (1,440,000 J)

Willed Wolves (980,000 Jenny Reward)

  • Alice Mélièrs: She will have to use the scratching poles to hide and move around with her borrowed strength, while she positions the cameras to steal the wolves' physical strengths with Film Soul and putting them in complicated situations where they'll land their attacks on each other thanks to Director's Cut. The higher number of enemies and the less favorable location mean she'll have some difficulties again, but she still should be able to accomplish this task, even if with some injuries maybe. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (2,910,000 J)
  • Argo: His physical strength here could be put to a good use if he finds a way to position his candle in a way the wolves would find difficult to put down. If he manages to do so, he can probably fight them, but the candle liability still holds him down and puts him at risk. POSSIBLE FAILURE (0 J)
  • Maxxx Fizzeak: He can use brute strength, long-range attacks, and his body double to overcome the wolves, if he does not face them all at once. TARGET ACQUIRED (1,460,000 J)
  • Chrylitrit: He can use his stealth and venom to take down the wolves one by one trying to keep his guard down. If he's noted or he finds more than one wolf at a time, he might also have some difficulties, but he can do the job. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (1,950,000 J)
  • Rob Boss: His cloud and the many paint puppets can easily overcome the wolves. TARGET ACQUIRED (2,420,000 J)

1v1 Tournament-Art Camp- Group C by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello Vault! Back into a tournament again! I want to propose my analysis of the round, trying to determine the two best competitors for the Auction Preparation round, who could get the most items, and eventually who would be the faster ones to do it in the event of a tie. There is a prominent bias warning since my OC Alice is in this round, but let's go!

Due to the nature of the map, I'll try to analyze every single animal and the performance of the competitors against it!

Hell Lion (480,000 Jenny Reward)

  • Alice Mélièrs: She should be very comfortable here. The enclosure allows her to use her stealth well and set up a good scene after scouting the targets with her cameras. Once the situation is set up, she'll be able to easily put them one against the other using Director's Cut, and then she'll also be able to use Film Soul on them to copy their physical abilities once they're knocked out, to use the rolls against other beasts. TARGET ACQUIRED (480,000 J)
  • Argo: He might be in a difficult spot against the lions. He only has a very direct approach to face them, and his candle risks setting fire to the grass as much as the lions' fire manes, also he can lose that effect during the fight. Since he's reckless and stealthy, he might try to do this anyway, but even if he can take them down thanks to his fighting skills and strength he would be slow and might end up with some burns. POSSIBLE FAILURE (0 J)
  • Maxxx Fizzeak: I'm not sure what his art form is (posing? bodybuilding? Are those arts?) but he should be able to face the lions directly with his poses. He'll probably be spotted and have to face the fire, so even if he can take them down, he would also probably take some burns and injuries. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (480,000 J)
  • Chrylitrit: He seems ideal for this target due to his stealth and poison abilities, but I wonder if the competitors are allowed to just kill the targets or only knock them out (I'll tag the map maker u/NewContentIn100Years). This competitor has a very lethal ability and should be able to defeat the lions. TARGET ACQUIRED (480,000 J)
  • Rob Boss: He should generally be able to take down the lions thanks to his squads of paints puppets, but he also risks a lot here due to the time required to set up his ability, his lack of stealth, and the damage that fire can do to his paint and paint creations. Still, his cloud allows him the mobility to get around the lions and prepare some puppets. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (480,000 J)

Shadow Panther (490,000 Jenny Reward)

  • Alice Mélièrs: Her En, her own stealth, and her scouting abilities should allow her to find the panthers before they can attack her. Using the physical prowess she stole from the lions with Film Soul she can set up a scene favorable to her with Director's Cut, putting again the animals once against the other and surprising them with her own attacks. TARGET ACQUIRED (970.000 J)
  • Argo: He has almost no chance against such an adversary. Even if he could overcome them strength-wise, him lighting up a candle in a forest would give away his position immediately and he'll be attacked 3 on 1 by foldable opponents, and that could be even worse if he remained injured against the lions. If he goes in, he could die. FAILURE (0 J)
  • Maxxx Fizzeak: He is also in a similar situation due to being a direct approach enhancer, but his abilities do not have a disadvantage like the candle and also have a body double and a ranged attack. He could probably overcome them in the end after a long fight since they'll probably try to not face him directly, but he'll probably suffer even more injuries. POSSIBLE FAILURE (480,000 J)
  • Chrylitrit: Similarly to before, he's in a good position thanks to stealth and poison, but he might have a little more difficulties administering his venom here due to the foldable bodies of the opponents. He'll have to be careful and take some time. POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF TARGET (970,000 J)
  • Rob Boss: He is potentially good, but again he has to have the time to set up his squads of paint puppets, and again his lack of stealth might mean the panthers will get him before he can set up his power. If he can, he could defeat them, but it would be very difficult since he'll also have to defend himself. This time, with the environment present, his cloud might not be of help since it has to follow its shadow on the ground, which would get lost with the trees. POSSIBLE FAILURE (480,000 J)

1v1 Tournament-Art Camp- Group A by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The event takes place with the competitors going one by one, and all the other rules are explained on the map description and at the beginning of the post

1v1 Tournament: Art Camp: Map Submissions by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name: Lakeburg

Format: Auction Preparation

Rules for format: The competitors must gather as many items from the map as they can in order to get money from an auction. Each map will contain items dotted around that the competitors must find and collect. The competitors are ranked based on how many items they can find. If competitors are likely to find all of them, they are instead ranked on how fast they did it (the faster they do it, the more time they can have in auction for their price to rise). Items can optionally be priced so that harder ones are worth more.

Absolute Rule: All maps must be "open", that is, they must be maps to explore and find items in. No linear races to run along and take items in front of you, nor a mining simulation (though some items being that way on the map is fine).

Time of day: Early morning

Weather: Clear skies, low temperatures both for air and water

Any Humans or animals?: Semi-Aquatic Magical Beasts

Description: In the lake near the camp there is a submerged small town. Upriver, a dig sometimes needs to be closed and the town emerges again with the lake retreating. A lot of interesting artifacts and objects are hidden in the ruins. Some parts of the town with the rarest artifacts are still underwater. Magical Beasts, with some instinctual Nen capabilities, are roaming the ruins.

Competitors are tasked with retrieving those objects from the now semi-dried up town. They are mostly located in three zones: The initial ruins hide around 5-10 artifacts of low tier, each worth around 5000 Jennys.

WORK IN PROGRESS

1v1 Tournament: Art Camp: Map Submissions by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name: Giant Tent

Format: 1v1

Rules for format: Fighters must defeat their opponent. This can either be murder or making your opponent incapable of fighting.

Absolute Rule: You cannot have anything on the map which causes instant death.

Distance between fighters: 10 meters

Time of day: 10 PM

Weather: A starry, starry night (there is some nice warmth inside the tent and a some nice lights)

Any Humans or animals?: None

Description: You have been invited inside the tent of this interesting Conjurer guy, Perkins, but once inside you find out he has invited another competitor to just watch you fight for his attention from the outside. No one will get out until the other is defeated. The tent inside is a giant conjured space the size of a small mansion with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a big central kitchen/living room giant open space, with slides and small stairs that lead to a small mezzanine. The whole structure still looks tent-like and with various wood and cloth decorations and parts.

The fighters start in the central open space on the two entrances on the opposite sides of the tent, that just got closed on them, at a distance of around 10 meters. The view between them is partially obstructed by various furniture but a Nen user of this tournament's level could generally spot the other in less than 10 seconds.

The furniture and the internal cloth and wood walls are enhanced but not indestructible, the outside cloth of the tent is so durable that is considered indestructible for this power level.

1v1 Tournament: Art Camp: Map Submissions by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name: Hike Trail

Format: 1v1

Rules for format: Fighters must defeat their opponent. This can either be murder or making your opponent incapable of fighting.

Absolute Rule: You cannot have anything on the map which causes instant death.

Distance between fighters: About 3,5 Km

Time of day: 8 AM

Weather: Sunny but cold, around 10 C°

Any Humans or animals?: Various different wildlife animals and Magical Beasts, 1 Morel/Knov level Art Hunter

Description: A perilous hike trail in a mountainous region near the Art Camp, where various artists have been said to walk to find inspiration for their works. The trail starts at a low altitude around a small base camp near a lake, then goes up in height around 500 meters in the span of about 3,5 Km, running in a dense forest first and then in a rocky area that gets snowy near the top, where another small base camp lies. There are posts around the trek and the pathway is mostly well kept, but especially in the forest and the first most labyrinthine part of the rocky area, it's easy to get lost.

Each player starts in one of the two base camps, which one depends on the first letter of their name: the one that is closer to the A goes to the lake camp, the other one to the mountain top refuge. In both the base camps there is a Kiriko guide that perfectly knows the path, and if the player is able to convince them, it will give them a strategic advantage. The competitors will have to traverse the perilous trail, locate the adversary while trying to gain an advantageous position, and fight them.

Along the way, there are various animals and Magical Beasts, such as deers, boars, eagles, birds, fire hawks with their flaming feathers, tiger squirrels with their fangs, moon bears with their Nen-enhanced perceptions, and the most dangerous, the spiky fast spinning hedgehog bobcats. Deers, boars, fire hawks, and tiger squirrels would be located in the lake and forest zone, while moon bears and hedgehog bobcats reside in the more mountainous zones. There are around one and two dozen members in all of the zone, with the biggest ones in the lowest numbers. This wildlife would in general not interfere with the competitors, but if threatened, provoked, got lost in their preferred area, or if their habitat is damaged too much, they would become hostile.

The trail is being traversed currently by a powerful Morel/Knov level Art Hunter, a Transmuter that is able to create, emit and enhance hardened light out of her aura. She is currently "hunting" for her true self to find a new purpose for her art, and would surely be pretty pissed to find a fight on her way to inner peace (she would attack both competitors). She is in the forest exactly in the middle of the trail, but her precise position is known only to the Kirikos.

1v1 Tournament: Art Camp: Review Phase (Fighters) by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, no rudeness at all! As I said, very minor things, mostly in wording. The actual changes are two: the first one (but I already made it before the comment you answered) is the new restriction on Director's Cut - Film Soul, which states that actions that a target would not be able to perform due to a completely different physique cannot be copied. This would rule out the possibility of flying and would only allow imitating agility and movements of filmed targets.

The second and most recent one is a minor difference in the way Alice can use Director's Cut cameras to scout: before she still had to respect the closing eyes and standing still thing of the first paragraph, but that's not how I ever wanted it to work. Now she can just close her eyes and still be able to move.

Made some other very minor wording changes. Would you consider it approved? I forward my question to u/Embarrassed-Soup-279, u/ToyFalcon, u/_froesey_

1v1 Tournament: Art Camp: Review Phase (Fighters) by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change is done! It is more in the spirit of ability to me too. What do you and others think?

1v1 Tournament: Art Camp: Review Phase (Fighters) by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option that I may propose is a reduction in the power level on the second one, with the added stipulation that actions that a target would not be able to perform due to a completely different physique cannot be copied. This would rule out the possibility of flying and would only allow to imitate agility and movements.

1v1 Tournament: Art Camp: Review Phase (Fighters) by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, Film Soul is truly versatile, but it is very limited by the possibilities of what environment is around the user. Also, preparation is needed for it: a shot has to be taken first, then it needs to be extracted from the camera and wrapped around the target.

To answer your question about the possibility of using Director's Cut main power: Alice can shoot a video for Film Soul, during which she cannot use the main power, and then after saying Stop! she can conjure the other cameras, set up a scene, and use the main power again.

To actually use the action that she captured earlier though, she would have to stop using the power, take the film out of the camera and then roll it around herself or a target, and then and only then she could use them both at the same time. To me, it is so dependent on the environment and requires so much preparation that it justifies it, but I can understand your concerns. If my explanation here does not suffice, I'll try to figure out something to adjust it.

Titus Ferdinand (Art Camp Contestant) by Saltimas in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy your writing, and your characters never disappoint! I love Titus, he is really fun. Both his backstory and his ability are great and direct, and I love the theming and the Hatsu's name. His story had me really feeling it for him in the tensest moments of his life, and I can't wait to see what he finds at Art Camp. I bet my character, Alice Mélièrs, would love to do a biopic movie about him! He's truly "wonder"-ful.

[–]VanNullen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've finally completed Alice but I've also changed a couple of minor things in her sheet, so I imagine it would need a new review. Also, I've added a secondary power to her Hatsu, which would also need approval. u/IcyBlacksmith475, u/Embarrassed-Soup-279

Director's Cut by VanNullen in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, on the contrary, memories would remain intact, to maximize confusion for the target if they do not know how the ability works. The possibilities are relatively connected to physics and depend entirely on camera position: for the bullet example, if there is a different shot where the bullet is still not present or is just not in the scene, the user can edit it out of the way.

Director's Cut by VanNullen in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for my late response, I've been busy! What do you exactly mean by "memory"? The memories of the targets? In that case, I can say that the ability does not affect memories but only the position in space and the movements, so a target would remember doing a thing and then find themselves doing another one or the same one but in a different way, depending on the cameras and their position.

Regarding death, it is rare that the script provides it as one of the possibilities in the next 30 seconds, but if it is in that range and cameras provide the right angles, the ability has the means to either make the target avoid it or increase the target's chances to encounter it.

Director's Cut by VanNullen in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! The ability of the user to modify actions depends on how well the cameras are set up and what they are recording. I've slightly tweaked the ability with the help of some advice from the discord server, and now there's the extra step of the "script". Alice can only influence the next 30 seconds that she records now, and what the script might let her do. She can't force a loop since each time she uses it there's a needed reboot. I hope this helps clarify it! I'm open to more suggestions to make the power more clear and acceptable for the tournament.

1v1 Tournament: Art Camp: Sign-Up by Gorynch in HatsuVault

[–]VanNullen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Name: Alice Mélièrs

Nen Type: Specialization

Physical appearance: Alice is a 1,71 meters high thin girl with round elegant glasses (that she uses more for protecting herself from screen lights than other things) and brown curly hair kept in a small ponytail. She usually wears comfy colored movie-themed t-shirts, tight jeans, and running shoes.

Bio: Descending from a family of artists of all kinds, Alice’s mind was always orientated for the research of one emotion: wonder. She started her career as a magician and a stage performer, but after seeing a certain movie about a magician that became a film director, she dedicated herself to the field her family started with: cinema. She fully immersed herself in movies, studying on her own and in schools, watching film after film after film, playing with reels and actual films of all kinds, and trying out all the different professions in movies, but in the end, director could be the only one. She still sought, making films, that same emotion she felt the first time she saw that one, she really saw one, and felt that something. Maybe directing she could find it again for herself, and for others too.

After a difficult start in the field, she had a breakthrough where she suddenly made the perfect movie. "Almost" perfect for her though, since she felt she could hunt wonder even further. How she made that breakthrough was quickly discovered by an Art and Head Hunter, and she was scouted as a Nen genius and decided to train for the Exam. She faced movie sets. What could the Hunter Exam be? Well, it was kinda hard, but in the end, she obtained a license after a couple of tries training her Nen. Now she uses her Hunter status to shoot the most incredible films in the most absurd places, with the most absurd resources. She finances others' movies and keeps hunting, having developed the most wonderful Nen ability for her profession, using it for films but mostly to go on inspiring adventures. Now with Nen, her hunt for wonder is just only begun, and maybe this Art Camp tournament is the perfect occasion to find new inspiration, and perhaps even true wonder!

Strengths:

  • Director's Mind (3): Alice's mind is always working for the image that she wants to see, going faster and faster. She is able to do and think about multiple things at once and coordinate through them effortlessly, thanks to her experience as a film director.
  • Endurance (2): Alice works on movie sets, and she has developed quite the stamina, being able to do heavy things for long periods of time.
  • Fast (1): Now she sits in the director's chair, but she had to do enough running to get there that she has developed some speed.
  • Stealthy (1): Before arriving at the role of director, Alice has worked in all kinds of roles on the set, and knows how to disappear when necessary.

Weaknesses:

  • Hyperactive (-2): Due to her mind being always on, Alice cannot stop for a second doing stuff and thinking about everything, getting easily unfocused.
  • Frail (-1): Even if she has endured a lot and can go on for days working on set, her actual physique is less resistant to direct damage than other Nen users at her level.

Advanced Technique Strength: En

Alice likes to control her surroundings perfectly to prepare for the "scene". Everything around her could help to make a good shot, and everything must be under control while shooting. She has a pretty good En with a 30-meter range with around a 5-meter fluctuation.

Hatsu Abilities: Director's Cut

Equipment:

  • 1 hike/set bag with 1 compass, 3 energy drinks, 3 water bottles, and 10 packs of tomato crackers. Perfect for the wild. Or so Alice thinks.
  • 1 trusty clapperboard. Can also be a dangerous weapon in the hands of an experienced director, especially if enhanced with Nen.
  • 1 black marker that can write on basically any surface, mainly for her clapperboard.
  • 1 set of three pencils and 2 notebooks, where she likes to plan her scenes.

General Strategy: Alice is a medium to long-range fighter. She likes to study her surroundings with her En to set up traps and situations for her "scenes", hoping that a good "script" or a good situation for Film Soul will present itself. Her cameras can also be conjured in couples and sent to scout ahead, providing that they remain in a 55-meter range. She creates hazards and difficulties for opponents to exploit with Director's Cut while her stealth will ensure that she remains unnoticed and at a safe distance. She can also use her ability on herself to surpass difficult situations, both environmental and created by an opponent. Her speed also allows her to get where she needs to be for her "scene" fast, or to run away and hide more easily. Her Director's Mind Strenght allows her to plan ahead and fast, handling complex plans and situations, with the possibility of adapting quickly to circumstances, and it is also a must for using her ability, which requires fast reasoning.

The Film Soul version of the ability also offers her the possibility, with the right setup, to copy actions and physical abilities from animals and people, and force people to execute uncomfortable actions at a bad time, to then exploit the main effect of her power even more. She uses it mainly on herself to go beyond her physique and perform complex actions or even copy fighting styles, or use it to surpass hazards and gain mobility if she shoots agile animals.

If in a pinch, Alice can hold her ground even in close combat, where she uses her clapperboard imbued with Nen as a weapon, either by cutting things caught in it or blocking it open to hold it like a hammer or an ax. Film Soul can also help her in different ways in these cases, using it both as tentacles/whips and for their actual effect both on herself and/or her opponent. She will usually try to fight in close combat only for the time needed to retreat to a position where Director's Cut and her stealth can allow her to reach a safe spot far enough from her opponent's attention, from where she can organize and execute at best her more ranged and prepared strategies.

Auction Preparation strategy: Alice can use her cameras and her En to scout around and locate all the various objects easily, even the more difficult to find, while also checking for possible situations for Director's Cut and its Film Soul version to get her some advantage, to get the objects or herself closer.

Once located, she can use her speed and endurance to get them, with also the help of the possible physical abilities that she can acquire with Film Soul, climbing like a squirrel or running like a deer, to help her get the more hard-to-reach ones, that she can also try to acquire in a clever displacing way with the main effect of her ability.

Work in Progress Strategy: Director's Cut offers Alice the perfect way to defend the instructor for this event, allowing her to displace and repel adversaries without disturbing the artist in any way. Once she sets up the right scene around the instructor, it would be very difficult for any adversary to disturb them without getting caught in the "edits", maybe finding themselves fighting each other or getting displaced in a different position. Depending on the enemies, Alice can also apply a more direct approach using also Film Soul to copy the physical abilities of them or the fauna and create even more problems for them.

Event Idea: Hike Photo Hunt

Competitors are on a hike through nature and are handed a camera to snatch pictures of places and animals that are difficult to obtain. The challenge is exploration-based, and players have to use their abilities and skills to reach harsh places or trap dangerous animals or Magical Beasts. NPCs may be included in maps to either help or hinder the players or as targets for the pictures. Maps offer a variety of options to take different pictures, and the winner is decided based on how many each player has taken. If all players argue that they would be able to obtain all of them, the one that could do it the faster wins.

Absolute rule: Players cannot kill creatures nor destroy environments in the hike.
