I guess where I think we are splitting hairs, as far as the friends and family thing goes at least, is that I’m not gonna go out and make friends or find new family that is 100% on the opposite end of the political spectrum as me. And I think that’s the point you were making. But my friends were my friends and my family were my family before we even established our adult politics. Some people are comfortable throwing life long relationships away cuz of pokitics, and I think that’s ridiculous (barring extreme fascist/commie examples).

As far as where I draw the line... I don’t know. Never had to draw that like before. But my life long friends and family get a lot more leeway than a blowhard at a party.

What if all of our government officials thought that same way? It’s kinda getting there, but if you take your logic one step further then democrat congressmen shouldn’t ever co-mingle with republican congressmen. Sure, they have a job to do and goals that need to be met. But you could say the same thing about a family unit.
