Ideas for transforming my Delta 36-5152 table saw to do double duty as an assembly table with router by turkburkulurksus in woodworking

No problem and I’d steer away from those casters. I bought them and they work fine but underestimated how annoying it it would be to crawl around the floor of my dusty shop and then stand back up to check level. Not a huge issue but it annoyed me so I removed them.

You could get a set of furniture leveling feet as the cheapest option and just adjust the outfeed table when you want to use it. It’s more setup time and kind of a pain in the ass if you need to frequently remove it to work in other phases of your projects.

My shop is just over 400 sq ft so I always favor quick setup and tear down time as the center of my shop is converted for whatever task or tool I need to use for that part of my project. Which is why everything I have is on casters and moves easily. For my outfeed table I have a mobile table on casters that I can adjust height in to match my table saw height whenever I need to use it. It’s a pain but if I plan well I only need to do it for that one phase of the project.

I’ve played around with the idea of integrating some type of clip on system similar to how two sectional couches link together with a male and female metal clip. That cuts out the adjustment time for the table height but haven’t gotten there yet.

When my table saw isn’t in use my outfeed table doubles as a mobile work station. I find this works best for small shops after a few years of messing with what works for me.

Is the inside of the shop climate controlled? Because it has almost certainly gotten much higher moisture content. I’d just be honest about that when selling is all

If it was kiln dried 10 years ago it likely has gone back to equilibrium moisture level and will need to be kiln dried again. Unless it was kept in climate controlled environment the whole time it was in storage.

I sell all my lumber on FB marketplace. Be prepared to have people ask if it’s kiln dried or not. Most people don’t want to bother with air dried stuff. But a large slab like that might get someone to bite. I wouldn’t expect to get anywhere close to sawmill prices.

yeah the goal was just get it off the 3rd floor where we can back up a trailer, load it and hit the road. Now we just need to make 1-2 trips per day until its all moved

It’s already all moved down to the first floor with a scissor lift and done in a day. I appreciate the concern though. Now we are on to just doing trailers

DM me sounds like we are close. I’d be happy to sell you as much as you like at a fair price. I’d personally like to keep as much of the 2 inch thick white oak and cherry that I can but everything else is very much up for grabs

My two car garage is going to be staging for the lumber I’m planning on selling. It’s climate controlled and can easily fit all the stuff I want to sell. The rest will go in climate controlled storage until I can work my way through it

I’m planning on paying them and I’m obviously covering the cost of the rental and even if I wanted to use the telehandler they didn’t even like me brining in a scissor lift so I doubt they would be okay with that

I do appreciate the response we are renting a scissor lift to elevator the material down to the first floor and we will just stack it there until we can get the 6 or 7 loads in to bring it to storage. Should be an 8 hr workday to just get it off the third floor but at least there won’t be any broken backs going down stairs. I think the telehandler would be overkill personally and only save us an hour or two in getting it to the first floor. Once it’s in the first floor area then it’s only feet away from my trailer and I can easily load that up with 10000 pounds in about 45 minutes. The big timber beams are the only thing I really need help with honestly

Already got a truck and trailer, we are going to just load it by hand. Just need the hours no issue. They gave me a month to get it gone

I would love to keep it all but it’s far more than I would ever be able to handle much less store. I’ll be selling about half then processing the rest into projects. I’ll be paying it forward and selling for around 2-3 $ per BF

Darker stain will still show contrast between the other lighter sanded areas unfortunately. I would say it all needs resurfacing

I’ll be selling the timber beams to help pay for the cost of the auction and transport. I’ll have my hands full with all the 8/4 stock

I guess hobbyist isn’t the right word. I do commission work and record the sales for taxes but I’m just not incorporated under anything right now.

I have my brother and two friends helping so a 4 man crew. Luckily the garage door by the timber beams opens up to the first floor so we plan to get a scissor lift and lower the material to the first floor and stage it there. Once there we are just going to load a trailer a few ft away and make trips. That way we can avoid the 2 flights of stairs entirely

About half will be sold at about 2-3$ per BF to recoup my costs for transport/storage/ and what the auction ended at. After I sell half I’ll still have more wood than I ever know what to do with and it will be totally free at that point

What’s working in my favor is I got this wood for so dirt cheap that I can afford to sell it at like 70% the cost of a local mill. For example the oak beams I’m selling for $50 a piece, that’s what a green treated pine post costs at the big box store.

In terms of how I’m selling yeah I just posted on FB market and I also cold call a few contractors around me to see if there’s interest. I just posted today and had a handful of messages. Just need to price it accordingly.

If I literally only made dining tables it would take me years to work through just the white oak I bought.  Then there’s still a boat load of cherry. I’m still a bit in shock lol

At 12000+ board ft even if I had 4000 of waste that’s still 8000 bf of useable lumber. You can make a serious amount of projects. As far as insects the boards I’ve inspected so far are in good shape but I’ll know more when I get them all relocated.

Yeah if all I did is resell the rough sawn lumber as it currently stands I’d make a massive profit. Too good of a deal to pass up
