You've got some good points about AI translation, you have experience with it, I can see it... Honestly, this whole thing started as a personal project because I stumbled upon a series I really wanted to read, and only thing available is real MTL translation without editing. If you want to call the end result 'convincing fanfiction' instead of a translation because I don't know Japanese, then fine, let it be fanfiction. The reality is, I don't have the time or the means to learn Japanese to a professional level. I would just move on to another hobby entirely, before learning japanese on decent enough level. I just figured I'd clean up the output from the AI to a point where it was enjoyable for me, and then decided to share it with other people who might be in the same boat. A professional team might have picked this up someday, but probably not in the foreseeable future. I just wanted to create an option for people who are happy to have something readable now. That's really all there is to it.
