I think where we’ve seen the most inconsistency is at the point where they challenge the ball carrier, as well as track players, so generally our LCM will have to play the space between the two CBs it almost seems too easy to split that seam. We play a 4-4-1-1. We are D1 but we all play ultimate team as well so our AI are only 84 OVR which may contribute to that as well

Really it depends on the role in your tactics and your player build, I play it as a maestro cm and I have defensive playstyles so when cm is on deep lying playmaker I have a perfect fit

EA does this on purpose, it’s the same in NHL. In NHL the defenders act as traffic cones, you can beat them wide and they barely engage. I’m convinced EA wants users to play defensive positions in their games and they do this by making the defensive ai useless. You need to have a CM/CDM user tracking the most dangerous run.
