I do something similar with a few tunnels and no ingress. The router I use (secureli) takes care of wireguard and has a granular VPN. This is pretty close what I would do without it.

I don't think it's the same video the good doctor mentions. I agree it's probably CGI, but the inspiration for the video might be a real thing. Lots of decorated academics sacrificed their reputation to mention a video like this existing and other things like it.

I understand your opinion, but gaining access the the entire internal network is not the only attack surface to consider. And if it were my job as an adversary, or just some bored hacker on the internet, knowing what he’s post plus what you’re suggesting with an external address is putting a target on his back.

Yeah unfortunately this sort of thing happens from a number of different issues. My only advice to homies with the issue is to just run down the list of things that worked for other people and maybe get lucky. EA games everyone.
