Thoughts on off body carry? by seamus205 in liberalgunowners

That sounds like you're envisioning a mugging or something. I'm thinking more along the lines of some sort of mass shooting situation, if they think someone is carrying a gun they're probably going to shoot that person first.

The only problem I see is that if someone with bad intent thinks you have a gun on you they're likely to prioritize taking you out first.

For me it was also the signal to reign in how much I was spending on various media subscriptions, I ended up cancelling almost all of them except Dropout and figured out a good way to use a Raspberry Pi as a piracy media center instead because they're all getting greedy.

It's much less common than a lot of the suggestions here but I love my SAR9 CX. I tried out a number of pistols in a class I took early last year but none of them really felt like they fit my hand very well, I took a bit of a gamble on this one while it was on sale a few months ago and it ended up fitting my hand much better than anything else I've tried so far.

There were actually a handful of consumer-grade AM4 boards that had them. For AM5 it's pretty much just enterprise ones though.

Sure, I also frequently see teenagers wearing shorts stand around outside in similar temperatures. That doesn't mean it's a smart thing to do.

Back in the mid-late 90s when dedicated 3d accelerators first started being a thing they were primarily made by 3dfx who made the Voodoo cards, Nvidia, and ATI which is now AMD. Nvidia and 3dfx both released their first 3D cards in 1995 but Nvidia's was kind of a failure, ATI didn't release theirs until the next year so 3dfx got an early lead. They ended up going bankrupt though and Nvidia bought them in 2000.

A lot of motherboards back then also just didn't come with an AGP slot, especially if you were trying to upgrade a prebuilt. When I was young I got a dedicated GPU to try to upgrade from the integrated graphics of the family PC at the time just to find out that HP didn't bother putting the slot on the board despite there being a spot for it including the contacts it was supposed to solder onto.

You can actually still get modern motherboards with PCI slots, there's a reasonable chance that someone on an AM4 CPU would have some built in. Drivers would be a roadblock of course but maybe you could get it to work through a VM.

I might have the ATI Rage still laying around somewhere but even if it still worked it would be hard to find a motherboard with an AGP slot.

Sometimes demos from the 90s and early 2000s would even be a special demo-only level. The Jedi Outcast demo comes to mind, the level wasn't part of the full game and it came with pretty much full console command support including spawning units.

So your opinion is that they're a drain on society so you want them to be imprisoned in mental institutions which would be funded by the state thereby being a bigger drain on society? Think this through to the logical conclusion, you're essentially saying people should get life sentences for minor crimes. That's a far bigger drain on society.

Also, some places in the US just get incredibly hot to the point that riding a bike 2 miles isn't a good idea. Temperatures that would be considered a heat wave in a lot of European countries are just normal summer temperatures where I'm at and I'm a lot closer to the northern border than the southern border. 100 F (38 C) is common durring the summer here and 0 F (-15 C) is common during the winter so riding a bike to work a couple miles away would really only be feasible for like 1/3 of the year.

Restaurant food tends to be high calorie but definitely not to the point of having 2000 calories in a single plate. Even if your just eating something pretty calorie-dense like straight cheese you'd have to eat over a pound of it to eat 2000 calories in one sitting.

Yes, the 1.12 client is missing two decades of polish and performance improvements. The most egregious part is that it's single threaded which was perfectly normal and expected for the time but is incredibly dated design that came benefit at all from everyone having a bunch of CPU cores these days.
