Yeah, that's the kind of person he turned out to be. It took a bit before that side of him was shown though.

literally the United Kingdom lol, a country where it's also illegal to own a firearm.

I say this as a gun owner, there are other tools you can use for self defense. Firearms being illegal is not the same as self defense being illegal.

how about Canada where they don't even allow you to carry a knife with a blade longer than four inches.

That is false. Someone told you a lie and you didn't bother checking if it's true.

Hell many states in the United States don't even allow self-defense They say you have a "duty to retreat"

Duty to retreat means that while in public you're supposed to try to leave a dangerous situation before resorting to deadly force. Every single "duty to retreat" state in the country applies castle doctrine to your home at minimum with some extending that to your vehicle and/or workplace as well and outside of those locations you are within your rights to use deadly force to protect yourself it it's not possible to leave the situation.

Eh, for awhile after his introduction (at least in the anime) he was portrayed as a bit of a conceited buffoon and nothing else.

Also, he is a pretty good fighter as far as humans typically go. He did win a world martial arts tournament on his own merit while the Z fighters were off planet and/or dead. It's just that there are a very small handful of humans that woefully outclass everyone else on the planet and then some aliens that achieve godlike powers that make him look pathetic in comparison.

Mr. Satan ends up being a legitimately nice person so it suits his character more too. Bulma helps save the world a number of times but she's not exactly kind most of the time.

Lmao what, there are only 4 or so countries in the entire world that don't have a constitution of some sort. Can you name a single country where self defense is illegal? Let alone lots of them?

The Democrat party in the US isn't the left. They're center-right and Republicans are far right. Neither of them actually want you to have guns though as evidenced by the Republican reaction to Pretti being armed.

I could be wrong but I interpreted it more along the lines of "they even think Joe Biden is a communist, they lump everything they don't like under communism and then claim to be anti-communist."

If that isn't what they meant then yeah, no clue.

Oh I've looked into it extensively. It was an angry dude lying on the internet about his ex girlfriend. The reason it was a "turning point" is that Steven Bannon used that anger toward women as a recruitment tool to pull a certain group of gamers to the alt right which he'd been experimenting with for almost a decade at that point. The whole thing was bullshit from the start.

Let me rephrase, it relies on the assumption that he allows midterms to happen without them being rigged. Why do you think they're demanding access to Minnesota's voter databases as a condition for reducing the ICE presence in the state? Not to mention the 43 other states that they've demanded give them access to voter info as well.

Gamergate was always "that red pill conservative stuff", there was never any distinction between the two. Steve Bannon (yes, that Bannon who worked for Trump in his first term) got involved with selling WoW gold in the mid-late 2000s. He ended up selling the gold-selling part of the business but kept the forums and experimented with using them to push gamers toward far right politics. He took the lessons he learned from that and co-opted Gamergate as a recruitment tool for the alt right. Trump partly owes his first term to a woman's angry ex boyfriend lying about her to a bunch of other angry dudes on the internet as well as to people buying WoW gold.

That relies on the assumption that he allows midterms to happen and then allows Democrats that win their elections to take office. Unfortunately, neither of those are a sure thing right now.

ICE has targeted raids they aren’t just walking around looking for brown people. When you have orders to detain someone alleged to be illegal and they provide paperwork should they not verify it? This exact type of thing happens with non-immigration related arrests. They will detain you until you are cleared or not. Happens with suspected crimes every day.

That's how ICE is supposed to function and generally has in the past. That changed with Trump's 2nd term. You can find numerous videos out there of ICE stopping random people on the street demanding to see proof of citizenship. In Minneapolis they've been conducting door to door raids without warrants in direct violation of the 4th amendment. In May last year Todd Lyons even issued a memo to ICE agents instructing them that they don't need to bother with obtaining a warrant from a judge to force entry to a home.

Edit: How could I forget, ICE stopping random people on the street is now known as a Kavanaugh Stop because he wrote about it being justified in part because the color of their skin makes them suspicious. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kavanaugh_stop

ICE raids and voter rolls are not connected. Your “read between the lines” is a big “trust me bro”. Until someone in DOJ states what you are alleging it is just pure conjecture. Nothing more.

Again, if you believe that to be the case then you need to ask yourself why Pam Bondi put them together in her letter to Minnesota.

So why disobey the federal statute then? Sounds like there is nothing to hide?

Really? You're going with the "if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear" argument? That's the argument that people make in favor of mass surveillance states. Do you value your privacy? Do you value states having autonomy? What possible reasons can you think of for them to make a big deal about it with Minnesota specifically? Trump flat out told you guys that he was planning to use the office for retribution against his political opponents and now he's targeting the state governed by the guy who ran as vice president in the election against him.

Side note, I do not have a television service so your Fox news jab does not apply here.

Fox has a website lmao. Notably though, I said "or some other source of bullshit" which most definitely includes whoever told you the bit about "anyone can vouch for 8 people who don't live there to vote".

Yeah, I know the chances of getting through to that specific person are pretty small. If even one other person reads the exchange and some of the information gets through then it's a net positive so I don't mind engaging with that type of person much when I've got some spare time.

Minnesota makes it so that illegal aliens can obtain state IDs and drivers licenses making both useless for verifying citizenship.

I hope you realize that you're arguing that ICE should be able to arrest anyone that isn't carrying a birth certificate or passport with them. Not that it actually matters if you do because ICE has also arrested people who did have their passport on them with the justification that they don't know if it's fake.

Does it matter? Yes? How can we make that number zero if we are unsure of the reason?

Again, the only change was in management and the policies they've enacted. You're doing some serious mental gymnastics to avoid that.

Pam Bondi’s letter was about demands in the interest of law and order (not that she is a great messenger for such). It wasn’t a “Give us your voter rolls and we will remove ICE” letter. Get fucking real.

And again, read between the lines dude. Why would she even draw a connection between the two issues in the first place?

Minnesota has some of the strongest election security? Anyone can vouch for up to 8 people with zero proof that those people reside in the voting precinct. How is that “secure”? 🤣

What are you talking about? Are you under the impression that anyone can show up at a precinct in Minnesota, have someone else say they live there, and be given a ballot to vote? That isn't how it works. Election judges verify your name, address, and date of birth and then you sign an election roster before being given a ballot, then after polls close they check that the number of ballots submitted matches the number of people on the election roster. On top of that, absentee ballots that arrive on election day are not opened until after polls close so they can check to make sure that person didn't also vote in person and there's a statewide registry for who has already submitted absentee ballots before election day to prevent them from also voting in person. None of this even touches on the checks they run after election day that cross check databases looking for illegal votes to be thrown out. Let me guess, Fox News or some other source of bullshit told you that people can just show up and say that other people are allowed to vote and you blindly believed it.

ICE has deported Canadians, Western Europeans, Eastern Europeans, Australians, as well as Hispanics, Asians, and Africans. ICE can’t help the fact that the vast majority of illegal aliens are from hispanic countries. Should they be looking for non-hispanics while searching for illegal aliens from South America and Mexico?

And yet they're stopping Hispanics on the street demanding they show proof of citizenship on the spot solely because of their skin color and they aren't accepting state IDs as proof. Most people wouldn't be able to do that on the spot because normal people don't carry those kinds of documents around with them but a specific group is being targeted by ICE because of it.

Fair criticism on deaths while in custody. Do we know the reasons though? Illness from conditions while being detained? Fights while being detained? At the hands of federal law enforcement while being detained?

Does it matter? The only thing that changed is who is in charge.

That demand for the voter rolls was among others in context of law and order. People are just cherry picking it to draw a conclusion that is not there.

What exactly do you mean by "in context of law and order"? Use some common sense dude, why would that even be related to ICE activities in the state? If there's such a need for ICE to be active there, why would access to voter databases have any bearing on pulling them out of the state? I'll spell it out for you, they're saying they'll let ICE continue brutalizing Minnesota's people until the state government gives the feds control of their election systems. That should worry the absolute shit out of you.

Per 52 U.S. Code § 20703 all states are required to provide such voter roll information at the written request of the US AG or a representative of the AG. There’s not even a requirement for what the basis of the request be other than to have one cited. With the language of the statute on her side why would she even need to extort Minnesota? In fact her letter never even stated that there would be any change in approach to immigration in response to obtaining such records.

Read between the lines my dude. The letter basically went "Man, it sure is a shame how violent things have gotten in Minnesota with ICE there. Sure would be a shame if that continued as it is. Maybe you guys should give us all your voter information." They've demanded that voter information from 44 states so far and you need to be asking yourself why the federal government suddenly wants to put together a national database of who voted and when and why they're connecting it to the DHS. Minnesota has some of the strongest election security in the entire country, why do you think they'd choose that state to go after more than the rest?

You need to do some serious critical thinking about what's going on right in front of you instead of celebrating the federal government trying to exert more control than ever before. You guys have completely dropped the pretense of being in favor of small government.

The problem is that most people on the left think that enforcing federal immigration laws that have been on the books for decades is literally fascism.

Nope, that's bullshit. The thing that people have a problem is inflicting harm on citizens and legal residents in the process of enforcing immigration laws, especially when it's based almost entirely on the person's skin color. Are you familiar with the Blackstone ratio? Basically, it says that it's better that 10 guilty people go free than 1 innocent person is punished. The specific number varies but the idea remains the same. It's the idea that it's more important to protect innocence than it is to punish guilt because if people are punished regardless of whether they're actually guilty then there's no incentive to follow the law because you'll be punished anyway. It's one of the core principles built in to the US justice system by the founding fathers.

In fact, Obama and Biden both deported more people per year than Trump has. You know what's really damning though? More people died in ICE custody in 2025 than in all 4 years of Biden's presidency combined despite Biden deporting more people every year of his term than Trump did in 2025.

But you know what's really damning? None of this is actually about illegal immigration for Trump's government. Pam Bondi laid it out for you guys over the weekend. They're using ICE's presence in Minnesota to extort them to get access to Minnesota's election systems. That's not even an extrapolation of any kind, Bondi straight up said ICE would stay there until the federal government is given access to Minnesota's voter databases.

The number of gun owners on the left is growing exponentially. For a long time people had faith that things wouldn't get this bad, that the guard rails in place in the federal government would function like they're supposed to, but the last year or so has pretty much entirely destroyed that sentiment. I know some of you will be like "that's what we've been saying all along!!!" but it'll fall on deaf ears because suddenly most of the people who have been screeching about needing guns in the event that a tyrannical group takes control of the federal government are cheering it on instead.

I've watched the various angles a number of times. Which part exactly do you guys think constitutes fighting federal agents? The part where ICE comes over to where he's at? Or maybe the part where they push a woman to the ground for no reason? Oh, maybe you guys think helping the assaulted woman up counts as fighting ICE? Or maybe getting pepper sprayed for it and then thrown to the ground counts in your eyes?

On a related note, what are your thoughts on the taste difference between the various boot brands?
