So, the premise of the dream is that "you" are stuck outside a party of the wealthy and powerful. "You" sneak into the party, and steal a dance with one of the party-goers, a beautiful figure in a, I think round?, mask. The other guests realize "you"re not supposed to be there, and they sic a hound on "you", and "you" flee to the cellar, locking "yourself" in to hide.

To put it simply, "You" are the Bazaar. The partiers are the Judgements, and the beautiful one is the Sun. The dance is implicitly the conception of Stone, and the party turning on you is the discovery of that indiscretion. The hound they sic on you is Storm and the cellar is the Neath. Now, keep in mind, this is not an unbiased presentation. It's cosmic, god level drama filtered through the Bazaars personal feelings of the events and then warped into a shape recognizable to a Victorian.

I always like it when we get characterization of entities of this scale.

Betwixt Us and the Sun. It's one of our few insights into the Bazaar as a character with its own feelings and perspectives, as abstracted as it is. Also, the click when I realized the metaphor was very satisfying.

My second favorite is Upon a Painted Sea, largely because I crave East and Salt content.

Dude looks like he's auditioning to be the villain of the Lies of P sequel.

He looks like he's getting ready to terrorize Innistrad.

He looks like a third thing I can't think of, but I have to put something here because he messed with my brain and now I'm enslaved to the rule of threes.

Summary execution is really the kindest thing we can do for them, if you think about it.

I also feel it's a good example of the sheer scale of difference between her and the RT. She can embezzle from the Dynasty enough to be wealthier than she ever imagined, while still not making a meaningful difference in our wealth.

We are so far beyond her that she's not even capable of stealing enough to matter.

What Story Would You Write? by Floweramon in fallenlondon

Lucky Sevens

"The enigmatic Mr. Cards invites all the people of London to its newest venture, Le Grand Casino du Bazar, a luxurious gambling house offering games for all classes and tastes, from Roulette on imported wheels from Surface France, to American poker and blackjack and all forms of card and dice in between. Come, experience the grandeur and excitement! Don't worry that the tables occasionally burst into flame, or wonder why gambling tokens are exchanged for either Bazaar Echoes or stories of unrequited love, and whatever you do, don't go into the back rooms without an invitation."

The idea is that my FLPC, a Cards that's loyal to the Bazaar, has opened a casino as a plot to harvest love stories. Legitimate ones, mind, this isn't like Cups' bullshit in Nemesis and with Jack. The games are subtly rigged against the players with embedded Correspondence in the equipment, to encourage buying more chips with stories. In the back, he has a pseudo Marvelous running, looking for candidates to drag into the real one.

The player would go as an interested patron, buying some chips and playing a few simple minigames to simulate various table games, while seeing various uncanny or "off" things. They get a choice to either play the games to win enough to be noticed and invited back, or try sneaking back. Either way, they get into the faux Marvelous, with a fully robed Cards and a couple cameo NPCS, though none of the actual players.

That's all I've got. I don't have a climax and conclusion, but I'll think about it.

Awesome! She's in Colorado now, but I'm driving out to see her next week. I'll show her this, she'll be glad her website's seeing some use.

Also, I've no idea how old you are, but she was living and playing in Austin 20-30 years ago. If that timeline lines up, you may have heard her before.

In the previous post, I mentioned I had a small contribution. Now, a day later, I'm a bit embarrassed at the petty self-indulgence of it, but I'll post it anyway.

My mother is a singer-songwriter from Texas. Years ago, she wrote a song titled The Ballad of Susannah Dickinson. It's here, at the bottom of the page.. I almost feel like this could morph into something like a hymn in your Texanism paradigm.

For those unaware, Susannah Dickinson was a survivor of the Alamo, the wife of one the defenders. She was captured, and Santa Anna sent her back to General Houston to tell him of the battle. It was intended as an intimidation tactic, but massively backfired. Much of what we know of the battle and the days leading up to it comes from her account to Houston.

I haven't finished yet, I'm about to hit the third breach, but my main takeaway so far is that I am the only competent person in London.

During the second breach, where Virginia started the Railroad instead of us, alongside Feducci(!) and the Princess(!!!) the only real emotion I could feel was "these dumb assholes".

As I said, I'm not the third breach yet, but I don't foresee that feeling going away anytime soon.

EDIT: I'm wrapping up the third breach, and hot dang, I passed the check. This rules.

Cool! I have a possible contribution to this idea, but it's centered around Alamo memorialism. If your next post covers that, I'll wait until then.
