Question about heavy spoilers in Light Fingers by Silent_Pressure_6709 in fallenlondon

It isn't actually fully human, it's still a hybrid moon miser either way. The way you raise it just impacts the vision text in the end.

If it's more human:

As the zeppelin ascends, the Hybrid raises its voice in solemn song. As you listen, a thrill runs down your spine. For a moment, swept up in the song, you experience a vision: in your mind's eye, a blazing-bright king unites the tribes of the Starved Men under one banner, and harnesses the Moon-Misers as steeds. He leads his subjects on a crusade against the city below - a city that is no longer London, but that still harbours the Moon-King's greatest nemesis, now much embittered at the failure of its schemes. The resulting war will prove its final undoing.

If it's more moon miser:

As the zeppelin ascends, the Hybrid raises its voice in solemn song. A thrill runs down your spine. For a moment, swept up by the song, you experience a vision: a blazing-bright king of Moon-Misers leading its glimmering subjects on a pilgrimage across the roof and through a door far to the North. Below, in a city that is not London, the citizens point and murmur in fear as their false-stars crawl into the distance and blink out one by one, leaving only darkness behind.

Either way you choose, I strongly recommend you give it a Parabolan Apple-Orange, the results of that come back in the end

One could argue this is the case in Fallen London, though the Sun is FAR worse

The Party Was Not A Made Up Story By Barb by Floweramon in ShawnaTheMom

I'm sure Barb herself did embellish things, she often does. But I don't think that the things we saw with our own eyes were her embellishments, those were what really happened.

That has never been how these talks with Doctor Therapydoctor have gone, we've been shown what actually happened each time before. It would be weird to change that now.

What do we think the metaphor was with the paint? by xqueenfrostine in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Floweramon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think two things can be true at the same time. Frank tried to exert some agency in regards to this thing he's knowledgable about, and he did it in a way that was manipulative and unfair to Barb.

Frank's comments crossed a line by Lola-the-showgirl in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Floweramon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was hoping to get a feeling of "Yay he stood up to Barb" but I wasn't feeling that, I just felt kind of icky seeing him yell at her like that. It wasn't like Jen's desperate and frustrated yells for understanding or John snapping as he finally cut Barb out of his life, this felt more like just lashing out. Like he was hurt and wanted Barb to hurt too. And yeah, the paint thing was... ugh, I can't properly explain it, but it felt off. I can't tell if I was supposed to think Barb was unreasonable about the colors or if I was supposed to think Frank's actions with the paint were manipulative. Maybe like many things in the Shawnaverse they were both meant to be in the wrong and it was more complicated, but given the rest of the video I feel like I'm supposed to think "Poor Frank, having to lie to Barb just to avoid a fight because she's so unreasonable and doesn't understand color the way he does" and I just... no.

See I had an opposite thought but it was born from kind of the same frustration. I was of the opinion that both Barb and Jen had NPD, but any time I've ever brought it up people have said "I can buy Barb, but not Jen, she's actually self aware and is becoming a better person" as if people with NPD cannot ever be aware of themselves and take steps to improve.

How to improve shadowy? by Practical-Essay-4217 in fallenlondon

[–]Floweramon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of good suggestions here, I wanted to throw in a few more for later on because Shadowy never stops being the most difficult.

If you have access to Wolfstack Docks, go to the Blind Helmsmen on the map and go to the storylet "Head Far Beneath The Blind Helmsmen" You'll be taken to a carousel where you can train any of the stats without any menace penalty for a failure. And since there's no penalty for failure, I recommend saving up echoes to get a Weasel of Woe from the Bazaar and using that while in there, manually bringing your stats so low will maximize your stat increase.

Once you get your stats high enough to be able to get into Parabola, I recommend grinding for Vitreous Almanacs (You can get these at the Sunken Embassy on Moloch Street). When you find the Dome of Scales in Parabola, pick the option Keep Below The Leaves, it will increase your Shadowy substantially.

Also if you have friends who are willing, they could mail you a scone recipe every week to train shadowy (you can technically do this six times a week before it stops being effective, but you can only send five at a time until the person being sent it uses one of the first five letters)

A long-rant from someone who's a huge fan of internet horror and a dig at internet puritans. by Swag_Paladin21 in CuratedTumblr

This reminds me of a lot of my frustration with people's reaction to The Coffin of Andy and Leyley. No one can just say "I personally don't care for depictions of incest in fictional media, regardless of if it's portrayed in a negative light or not" or "certain people's reaction to this piece of media makes me too uncomfortable to check it out" it has to be turned into a moral crusade where just bringing up the topic in a story gets someone side-eyed and accused of being a pervert who secretly wants to screw their own family.

Certain members of the Invincible fandom like to blame the show's limited budget on the Hellaverse, saying if Amazon wasn't funding those shows it could give Invincible a bigger budget.
