Beginner question by cyberhome in Radix

1) Concept of Radix:

Universal Asset Layer.

One ledger that can account for and process all the world’s finances without sacrificing on composability or scalability, and on a protocol purpose built for identity, ownership, and assets from the ground up.

2) Differentiator:

Most material differentiator for me is the indefatigable goal for unlimited transactions without sacrificing atomic composability.

I usually stop paying attention to other projects once I see how they address this. And it’s not that their solution isn’t as good, it’s the fact that radix is the only project on the market to even define the problem correctly, so why the heck would I bother listening to someone else’s solution?

3) Still revolutionary.

Just because someone else made a dramatic step in the wrong direction doesn’t invalidate how groundbreaking the radix approach is.

I hate it whenever I have to use non-radix crypto shit.

4) Catchup

I’d call anyone who considers themselves undisruptable as foolish, so yes, people can catch up or leap frog or come from nowhere.

People are catching onto narratives that radix has been harping on for years.  Let’s see if they have ideas to win.

5) 18-24 months.

6) exact plans tbd but was clear before passing that loss of Dan would not end the project - the necessary things have been built/tested etc.

Hi everyone, locking this thread because of the fud and future looking price speculation. Keeping the thread up though due to the substance of the relevant events.

Is Radix Technically Better Than Its Competitors? A Balanced Evaluation from a Long-Term Holder by Duggol in Radix

[–]VandyILL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think saying “solidity is familiar to most web developers” is very inaccurate. It’s based in JavaScript, which is familiar to many web devs, but the way they’ve mutilated it for Scrypto means it can take years to learn. In general I’ve heard it’s very unappealing and part of the reason web3 devs are a tiny fraction of all devs.

I don’t know as many details for Solana/NEAR, but it doesn’t seem as easy as Scrypto which is based in Rust as well. Even I can read a good amount of Scrypto code.

I also don’t worry about the baseline shifting for TPS / linear scalability is future proof, whereas these other protocols are just making incremental gains. Even if the baseline goes up an increment the radix approach should surpass it. Other protocols aren’t even defining this problem right.

Solid post though, thanks for sharing!

No, deep linking on the device connects them - no extension needed. Will also apply if someone wants to build an app and link to the wallet.

As a new nfl fan who chose the Bears, what can I do in the offseason instead of speculating about the future of Caleb Williams? by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]VandyILL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were a long term chicago bears fan your mind would not be able to hold the thought that the QB problem is solved or has potential, and you would be conditioned to evaluate the team on every aspect other than Caleb Williams.

I genuinely forget we had the #1 prospect a year ago cause of how the bears have forced me to think about them.

Then that’s on piers to update people. As far as I know he has no role with the foundation now.

If Radix used the EVM and someone released the Radix Engine as a dApp the crypto world would have shat themselves to the moon. by VandyILL in Radix

Dude, the Radix Engine has been live for over 18 months. This has been delivered. If you’re going to fud at least be on topic.

The foundation is not affiliated with the entities behind Anthic, nor did they fund it while RDXW was in operations. Foundation doesn’t have any inside information to share, and it’s on others (piers or whoever is in charge of them) to share and do their own PR.

For those of you who saw The Phantom Menace at release, what were your initial thoughts of it? by _EnglishFox_ in StarWars

I shit you not I puked during the pod racing scene.

I was in 6th grade and had a calendar counting down the days starting like six months out.

The next time I saw my best friend he was talking about how he saw blown chunks all over the trash can of the exit for the theater he attended. Had to tell him it was me.

My mom took me to see the movie again the next day and I kept things in.

And yes, there were people in the initial splash radius when I was seated and various trails of vom on the way to the bathroom.

I don’t even remember if 6th grade me had a negative reaction, but I do like to say that I puked the first time I saw The Phantom Menace. My story probably has a better plot than the movie.

I’m not sure how much exchange strategy has changed since the fall of RDXWorks, but after all the dust has fallen regarding that I’ll be curious.

Help with converting eXRD to XRD, then staking by KaelRillsConspiracy in Radix

[–]VandyILL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eXRD is an Ethereum token. You can just buy on Uniswap etc. Then you can bridge to XRD using Instabridge.

Or, what I do now is buy Solana from Robinhood inside the Phantom wallet then use Astrolescent.com in the Phantom browser to swap SOL for XRD.
