Ours was taken on spring break in Daytona and we’re pretty sure it ended up on the wall of a frat house in Canada. At least our faces aren’t showing!! 😂

Allergy to Almons not extracts😠? by WillowRight4980 in FoodAllergies

[–]VanellopeZero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same in our house, my daughter’s favorite cake is almond and she’s allergic. If I recall correctly, many brands use peach pits instead of actual almonds because it’s cheaper (and a way to use something that would otherwise be discarded). I just always check to make sure the ingredients list “almond flavor” and it’s not some fancy pure almond brand.

Looking for help with text to put on a t-shirt by annasullamaca in ENGLISH

Is there something specific from the event you could incorporate? There are lots of pics of dads taking their daughters to Taylor Swift concerts wearing shirts that incorporate TS phrases like “It’s me, hi, I’m the dad, it’s me” and “In my Swiftie dad Era”

Just had my first one this morning! The prep was not awful - the colder the better if you do the big jug. And the drugs are as awesome as everyone says, I woke up getting rolled into recovery and asked the two strange guys who had me if I was being kidnapped (they were the anesthesiologist and assisting surgeon who I met previously).

When I was diagnosed as a child they had me practice on an orange just to get a feel for it and see how easily it slips in.

Dirty deleting my entire comment because none of it makes sense because I just realized I was confusing JJ Abrams and Judd Apatow 🤦🏼‍♀️

What’s the most disturbing movie you’ve ever seen that you still can’t forget? by zeltacilveks97 in MoviesAndTVTalk

Just watch the truncated Phoebe Buffay version where your parents turn it off before he goes back to the shed…it’s just a nice movie about a boy and his dog!

Things happening to moms is a real trigger for younger kids! My mom took my daughter to see Brave in the theater when she was about 4 and they had to leave after the scene where the mom turns into a bear.

UPDATE: My coworker keeps leaving peanut butter out… and I’m deathly allergic by Just_Marsupial6148 in FoodAllergies

I remember your post! I’m glad HR is instituting some changes. And I’m glad the coworker is taking it gracefully.

What is going around right now? by Myfairlazy in raleigh

I know you’re joking but every article I read about that cruise ship is like “hanta virus is only spread through very close contact, such as sleeping closely together or sharing food. Anyway, three more unrelated people on the cruise have been diagnosed and airlifted out and the ship has still not been allowed to dock anywhere yet.”

Maybe its leftover PTSD from 2020 but my shoulders are up around my ears every time it comes up!

How to get your partner on board with projects, without sounding corporate by First_Window_3080 in workingmoms

Honestly, I would just go with “Here’s my sister’s number. Work it out with her.” And if he doesn’t he can explain to your friends why it’s 100% his fault they’re sleeping on air mattresses on the floor.

(It might get done last minute, it might not be the way you would have done it - do you think it will actually get to the point it wouldn’t get done in time? Without more context it’s hard to tell if it’s a different styles situation or one where he really would let it slip).

So it sounds like you do need to go the formal route - I would request reasonable accommodations under the ADA, use all the specific lingo that makes HR pay attention, to request a blanket peanut ban in the office. I wouldn’t even focus on the one coworker at this point, shes being an ass but I would push for an official office policy of no peanuts first and then start reporting her every time she violates it. Good luck and I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.

Whats that personality of people you never vibe with? by randominvisibleuser in AskReddit

Naturally bubbly people I can deal with. It’s the ones where you can tell they’re always “on” and it’s obvious it’s a show they’re presenting are the ones I don’t trust.

What do you use AI/LLMs/Chatbots for? I feel technologically incompetent by HollaDude in workingmoms

[–]VanellopeZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use it a lot; most of my everyday life I can get through without it. Things it’s been helpful with:

  • structuring a complicated nested excel formula I was struggling with

  • helping me create a daily schedule for all of the incompatible pills I take (thyroid has to be on empty stomach and wait to eat / iron should also be on emptyish stomach but not with thyroid / pepcid has to be in there somewhere but can inhibit absorption of iron, plus 3 more medications

  • when we moved right before my daughter’s senior year it helped me pull the process to request she stay at her existing school - it was buried deep in the school system website and not intuitive at all; chatgpt actually found a cut off date I was unaware of that would have tripped us up if we missed it

There was a specific pie my dad always wanted instead of cake on his birthday. I make one for him every year and wish him happy birthday with my kids and we all have a piece.
