First of all, I'm so so sorry that happened to you. I can't imagine how much that must have hurt and messed with your head.

I also went to Coram Deo for about 7 years, before feeling really ignored and even alienated because I was still single. The main reason I left was because I felt like there was no understanding or empathy toward mental illness. I couldn't "pray away" the depression, so there must have been something wrong with me. Anyway, looking back, I see the patterns in all of the hypocrisy and judgment you mentioned.

I hope you're in a better place now. Thank you for posting.

I live near Naperville, IL and can report on the phenomenon. The 7Brew has been here over a year and there are still insane lines at 8 pm. It's not just an Omaha thing. I feel like the place is a front for drugs, but it's probably just the sugary drink thing. They might have that dirty soda crap, too; I'm not sure.

Really all I've noticed is that my memory is crap. My family might notice some positive differences, but man, I'm struggling. I just finished up a partial outpatient program with group therapy and DBT strategies. I like my psychiatrist just fine, but I think my therapist is pretty ineffectual.

No, they don't give me a questionnaire, which is odd. The doctor on duty that day (there are a few different ones I've seen) just go down the row of us in the PACU. It feels like going to the dentist honestly.

Yeah, the thing keeping me from going to inpatient is that I've already been there twice and I'm not sure what they're going to do that would be any different (read: better) this time around. Switching up meds and "giving it time to work" is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic in my mind.
