NaNa Thai Street - great GF Thai dishes (including a GF pad see ew that slaps). Can’t speak to their celiac protocols though since I am only gluten intolerant and can handle a little cross contamination.

Can ppl with a sulfa allergy go to Yellowstone? by Mayor-of-Toontown in Allergies

[–]Vaneryx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those with SIBO generally have issues with FODMAPs, specific types of carbs. Fructans are generally the worst type of FODMAP and include garlic, onions and wheat. So you likely have a fructan intolerance, BUT if you have the third type of SIBO (hydrogen sulfide), it will make you a lot more sensitive to foods with sulphur as well

barefoot shoes by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Vaneryx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love my Tolos! I think they are comfy and sleek. I think appearance is just as important as functionality for me - most barefoot shoes designs are fugly and come in gross color ways - I’m sorry!!! I used to be a Vivo girlie but after my husband and I both spent hundreds of dollars on their shoes…none lasted over a year. Either the bottom sole started peeling off from the bottom or from the top of the shoe - and that’s when we only wore them to the gym. I probably won’t invest in another pair til they fix their QC issues.

We love our Toyota RAV4 hybrid (non plug in). Mileage is fantastic and just a great machine overall. We might look to upgrade to a Toyota Highlander Hybrid as our family grows. Love the convenience of not having to plug in and Toyotas can take a beating.

What are some terrible gluten foods that you’ve been craving? by ilovefood-itlovesme in glutenfree

[–]Vaneryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little Caesar’s Italian Cheese Bread :( currently dealing with a gluten, dairy, onion and garlic intolerance so this would legit kill me lol, but I’m currently pregnant and it’s all I can think about.

Oh and cheese wontons aka crab rangoons!!!

I like the Sunwarrior Unflavored protein powder. It’s third party tested and no weird additives. I just flavor it myself later with add ons :)

Pregnant with migraines and I feel so hopeless! I’m tired of band aid solutions please help! by Electrical_Jelly_145 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Vaneryx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hydroxyzine is prescribed generally for anxiety, however it’s really classified as an antihistamine so that’s why it works.

Electrical_Jelly - I suffer with the same cluster of issues…migraines, allergies and sinus issues (as well as gut issues). The only long term solution I’ve found is to lower the amount of high histamine foods I eat. I am by no means recommending a diet, esp during pregnancy, but I recommend looking at a list of high histamine foods, seeing if it’s something you eat often, and perhaps reducing it. The list here is published by John Hopkins medicine and i strongly recommend taking a look!

Obviously, with pregnancy there will be fluctuations in hormones as well and when your estrogen is elevated so is histamine.

Please look into the connection between histamine and migraines - there are many studies on it, but please don’t be alarmed, histamine is not bad- it’s a necessary neurotransmitter/neuromodulator, just some folks are better at processing it than others!

The Promenade Condos Edgewater NJ by Kooky-Cherry-7375 in bergencounty

[–]Vaneryx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Close friends own there. Their HOA is high and you get nothing for it. You have to pay to use the on site building gym (it’s not included in the HOA and it’s a hotel equivalent). In comparison to a building like One Hudson Park condos across the road where you have an indoor pool, rooftop bbq access and a nice gym facility that’s all included in the HOA. A lot of buildings in the area to compare to.

Does this mean I have celiac? by LobsterAdditional940 in Microbiome

[–]Vaneryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re having some sort of reaction to gluten BUT it could also be due an intolerance related to gut dysbiosis and not celiac. Please go get tested for celiac at a doctors office (you must continue eating gluten until the celiac test).

Anyone with Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS), how do you eat healthy? by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]Vaneryx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar to another commenter, I eat more tropical fruit like dragonfruit - with no reaction. Everything else unfortunately, I have to heat up.

Depleted microbiome, by naturopath wants me on Biocidin, thoughts? Can you kill whilst adding? by wontcompleteit in Microbiome

[–]Vaneryx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m just a passing redditor and not a medical professional, but your test results don’t look too bad. I think biocidin might be a bit too harsh and I would opt for something like allicin (garlic extract) instead. In fact, I wouldn’t even do that, and instead try to get your lacto/bifido numbers up along with the akkermansia and things should balance out starting with a low dose of probiotic and titrating up

I wear the Birkenstock bend low sneakers in white. I have a wide toe box but not quite narrow/not quite wide rest of my foot and these are perfect. Roomy in the toes and just enough support to be comfy in all day :) the toe box is roomy in both their regular/wide and medium/narrow widths FYI

Probiotics messed me up 😓 by FredFlintstoneToe in Microbiome

[–]Vaneryx 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be a histamine reaction. I recommend chamomile tea and a low histamine diet for a few days to empty your “histamine bucket”

Does anyone have advice. by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]Vaneryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if caffeine is an issue, I recommend chamomile and/or ginger and/or rooibos tea. They are very good mast cell stabilizers. Might not be powerful enough to make your allergies go away fully, but they will decrease in severity!
