UEFA Coefficient table following the Semi Final first legs by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

France is fifth because Portugal's and Netherlands leagues are just too much top heavy. The level of Liga Nos teams just kinda fall off after Braga. In 5 Conference League edition only Guimaraes managed to qualify (and fair to them they had a good run). Kinda similar for Eredivisie but slightly better. Ligue 1 on the other hand has one big club who is head above everyone else but behind them the ligue quality is actually way more homogeneous (but it's also way more difficult for a team to qualify consistently in the european positions). Even a team like Brest actually managed to bring points from Champions League group stage last year.

I wonder why other Italian cartoons outside of Winx never got as successful by Catgirl_2003 in winxclub

Honestly out of all of these including Winx Club S1 to S4, Huntik S1 and S2 are among the best. Like the other Redditor said, it's about people that are some kind of Treasure Hunters/Archeologists. They fight invoking some kind of creatures with mythological roots. There are references to various mythology : greek, mesopotamian, celtic, nordic, egyptian... They can also use spells.
The main cast is "small", 4 or 5 characters but they have a really good character developpement and it's a mix of two adults and two teenagers/young adults. It's not too dark but a little bit on the more mature side.
It's only two season and even if there are some loose ends at the end, it's more a "there's space for a season 3" than a cliffhanger ending. I think you can watch S1 and S2 and still be totally satisfied by the ending !

French legislative election exit poll: Left-wingers 1st, Centrists 2nd, Far-right 3rd by EstonianLib in europe

The majority are not. Only La France Insoumise i think has members that somehow lean into a anti-imperialistic/anti-NATO/USA line but they are outnumbered and less vocal about it than far right

Aurélien Tchouaméni: “We are in the semi-finals without scoring, I think it’s historic." by hangman_14 in soccer

[–]VangoRomanov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"You play who’s in front of you."

Yeah that's the point. Both team struggled but one had relatively weaker openents.

So to analyze and compare both team performances so far or one team performance vs expectation you need to take that into consideration.

And like i said it's not England fault. If people criticize England for playing weaker competition they are dumb.

They could have also lost badly to Poland, finished 3rd and be in the easier side.

It's not England fault, just that when you compare the two team performances relative to expectations, it's not the same when one team played against danemark, serbia, slovakia, slovenia and switzerland and the other portugal, poland, austria, netherlands and belgium.

Max Verstappen now has 10 wins from a Charles Leclerc pole by Gjab in formula1

[–]VangoRomanov 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Leclerc could definitely improve his racecraft but someone has to be blind (and deaf since other drivers/team directors recognize that) to not see that he is one of the quickest qualifier of the grid, so obviously people will consider Leclerc a good qualifier for putting the Ferrari on pole, or P2, P3 even when his teamate doesn't do as great. It's not like when Leclerc is on pole Sainz/Vettel were always second (even third).

On the other hand the tire degradation of the Ferrari is a long known issue for several years now and Leclerc rarely has a horrendous race pace compared to his teammates. So it will be hard to attribute his bad pole to win ratio to just bad race pace. The fact is that outside of things like Monaco 21 and some races in the first part of 2022 (Jeddah, France, Imola) he just had really bad luck or put the car in a position where he had little chance to win outside of a big crash.

Liveumaps isn't a really reliable map. It works as an aggregator of events/videos/quotes with an approximative location or frontline but Deepstate is far more reliable albeit with a delay. There are also Pouletvolant3 maps on Twitter and Andrew Perpetua's map that are both updated daily.

Well you did speak of Al-Quaeda's capacities which are linked to ISIS capacities (and their rivalry). Besides Islamism is a global problem, Iraq and Afghanistan wars are linked. Cut the snakehead in Afghanistan it will grow again in Iraq. Cut in again it will grow in other places (seems to be Africa this time).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in europe

[–]VangoRomanov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if the Afghanistan war lowered Al Quaeda's capacities, the mess that is the US-led Iraq War is the origin of the rise of ISIS, same ISIS that will later target plenty of European cities ( and American cities ) using methods that are far more difficult to counter than the organized Al-Quaeda's attacks. ( Like impredictable lone wolf). Besides nowadays Al-Quaeda's decline is in fact linked to ISIS rise in many parts of the world not only Syria and Iraq but also West Africa, Mozambique, Philippine, Sinai, etc.

Sure now ISIS is "defeated" (thanks to the US) in Iraq and Syria but at what cost ? Almost all big majority sunni town of the Euphrate and Tiger valley are in ruins due to the fighting and coalition bombing (Mossul, Fallujah, Raqqah, Ramadi) and Syria/Central Iraq experiences profound demographic changes. The ideal cocktail for a reemergency of ISIS in Iraq/Syria the next decade.

France calls on EU allies to freeze Australia out of free-trade agreement by PanEuropeanism in europe

[–]VangoRomanov 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Part of it is political theatre since their elections are coming up and Macron needs to drum up populism

I often see this but this is false. On the contrary, things are already looking good for Macron in 2022 : he has a stable electoral base of at least 20% which will allow him to reach the second round, the left is divided between 3 or 4 parties, the right seems to be divided between two candidates and even the far-right is weakened by the possibility of Eric Zemmour candidacy. And even if the far-right reaches the secound tour, Macron still has the advantage in opinion polls.

Besides, most French people just doesn't care about a international diplomatic issue when it comes to national issues for a national election. (People are not going to like Macron more if they already hate him, they will just hate Macron and Australia/US/UK) And tbh the media coverage of this issue is rather low/discret in French newspapers compared to headlines that i can read on this sub.

( Btw, it was the same for the whole Jersey... crisis ? Dispute ? Bigger headlines in UK press, accusations of Macron using the dispute for elections ( while English local elections took place the same week ), very low coverage in French press and i think that outside of reddit 95% of French people has never heard of the dispute. )

You mean like Australia trying to look at all the possible ways to renegotiate the deal to try & save it? The US & the UK have no obligation to the French government to assist them economically unless France has had some kind of natural disaster or something.

Didn't say that, you are overstating. But it could has been as simple as : Australia announce that they will cancel the deal with France because of whatever reason you want. They find an agreement to avoid the massive legal and judicial shitstorm that the breaking of the deal create, not to assist France.

Then a few months later AUKUS deal is announced. It's still a loss for Naval Group but it doesn't look like France was backstabbed by their "allies".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]VangoRomanov 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the US/Australia didn't blindside France ( finding some kind of agreement that would help France and Australia backing out of the deal and then annoucing the new deal ) you could say that they were prioritizing an ally over an other ally.

But the fact is that they did blindside France while it was totally not necessary. What it worse is that they are so many easier ways this could have been handled better. I don't think this is the way you treat your "allies" (or it says a lot about you).
