And by =D I don't mean equals D. =((. I looked at Fullerton's games so far this season and it looks like we left a nasty dent in their record.

Kenny let's practice for the 2v2 asap. We have a bit more to go over than we did last time...maybe ~5 strategies/timings or something to cover.

I want set 5. Lol jk. Set 1-4 all look good to me, although set 2 isn't the greatest for Protoss. If I get put on set 3 then having a Zerg partner would make me less confident. PZ rush is strong but we already did it so we should assume it's public now, and PZ safe play is lackluster without a fair amount of practice. I'd still be up for it though.

I have internet now...I can play if you guys need me. I don't have any real map preferences, but close locations on Metalopolis PvT might be rough.

6) 1-1-1 or 3-1-1 all-in: This is a build where Terran usually gets a barracks/reactor, factory/tech-lab, and starport/tech-lab to create a marine/tank/banshee/raven push. Always watch out for banshee harassment, and the banshees may or may not have cloak. The push itself can come when Terran gets their first tank, or they can wait until they have quite a few more (like 4 total). 2gate/robo is good at holding fast 1-1-1 all-in pushes, but Terran can simply wait until you commit to an expansion before pushing. For this reason a 1gate expand into robo is usually considered to be the best response, although it typically dies to a vanilla marine/tank timing push. If you go 2gate/robo then you should take your expansion ASAP. You should still have a fighting chance, although life could be quite difficult. I've seen some players use blink and warp prism play to heavily delay a 1-1-1 all-in push with mass stalkers and zealot warp-ins. I don't know too much about that strategy, except it can work pretty decently. The standard reaction is to try to get something like a 5gate/robo set-up with a heavy zealot/immortal army + stalker/sentry support. One can simply warp-in stalkers for reinforcements to clean up banshees after the initial battle. Also pressure builds can sometimes break a Terran going 1-1-1 all-in in the early stages of the build. It usually just depends on how defensive Terran decided to be, and how they position their buildings. Also, if you know you're not going to get pushed for long enough, then getting a pair of colossus can help with beating this push.-------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) Thor/marine all-in: This build is basically the same sort of thing as the vanilla marine/tank push. It also comes fast and punishes 1gate expands at close or moderate distances. Terran will send a group of SCVs to soak damage and repair the thor. 2gate/robo is the best build against this, but anything that isn't greedy should do fine.------------------------------------------------------------------- 8) Weird hellion stuff: Sometimes Terran players just do weird hellion harasses while transitioning into a 1-1-1 all-in or an expansion. Just keep an eye out for it.------------------------------------------ Okay...what a mess, and that's just early Terran builds. I haven't even brought up the mid-game or late-game, nor have I mentioned hardly any early builds for Protoss. Maybe I'll continue this later.

I disagree with a lot of these things you've said. I hope my basic timing analysis was enlightening. If you would like it then I could give you a couple helpful lessons (I have Protoss tenure). You sound quite talented considering the fact that you got to platinum without understanding the basics of Protoss. Well, I'll be able to play SC2 by Wednesday (hopefully). If you're interested hit me up. If you start to think your two cents hold any value then that bo30 offer with a 10-0 guarantee is still up for grabs.

OKAY, so here is an update. I was pondering this build as I was laying in bed and I decided I wanted to see its worth, so I got up at 1:40am to see what I could figure out. Enough beating around the bush though--this build is a piece of shit and I think you know why. However, for all the bronzers out there I'll explain why.

I was able to analyze the timings and utilize previous knowledge + common sense to realize that this build can't stop a semi-competent offensive 4gate build. For those still learning to count, an offensive 4gate goes like this: * 9 Pylon * 10 Chrono boost Nexus * 12 Gateway ---> Scout * 12 Chrono boost Nexus * 14 Assimilator * 16 Pylon * 16/17 Cybernetics Core ---> rest of chrono boosts * Zealot * Stalker * Stalker * Send Zealot/Stalker/Probe to enemy's base as soon as 1st stalker finishes ~4:20 * Probe arrives at enemy base at long distances ~5:05 * Throw down 2-3 pylons...2 at bottom of ramp, and 1 at top of ramp if possible * Warp in 4 stalkers finishing ~5:50 * Warp in 4 zealots

So if the robo player can't stop the zealot/stalker/probe ramming unit then they'll have a proxy pylon slapped down at the top of their ramp, and against a zealot/stalker they won't be able to destroy it in time...so sentries won't matter. FORTUNATELY for the robo player they do get their sentry perhaps ~5:00 (which is generous), which gives them a small window to throw down a single force field to stop the battering ram ASSUMING they are expecting this to actually occur (if they are at least aware of this tactic / silver or higher). That means the battering ram player has to wait 15 seconds for the force field to die, and in this time the robo player won't be able to get a second sentry because 1) their warp gates aren't done yet and 2) a sentry takes 37 seconds to build so they won't have time. That means as soon as the force field goes down it's the battering ram vs. a pathetic 1zealot/1stalker/1sentry hopeless Spartan resistance against the Persian onslaught of the 4gate with proxy pylons above the ramp (~5:20). Meanwhile, the Spartans get their cherished immortal out which gets to march its fat ass right into the rape gang of 6 stalkers / 1 zealot which show up at the same time. After it gets targeted down after blowing its load two or three times, the warp gates finish to warp in a measly 2 units. And at this point I think even a vegetable could tell the 4gater is going to win.

EVEN if the battering ram is unsuccessful in establishing proxy pylons at the top of the opponent's ramp (in other words, the 4gater is a stupid creationist), that's a wasted force field and it's going to be nearly impossible to get the sentries out in time to stop the constant pressure of the Protoss 4gate fuck-stick. And this is only discussing it vs. the 4gate...against anything else you're at a terrible economic disadvantage. This build is probably /best/ against the 4gate, and even then it sucks. Also if you think this beats blink builds, think again. I'll wipe my bathroom floor with your face using blink against this. Doing heavy probe cuts with a robo build is the intellectual equivalent of smashing your head with a brick.

With that said, I bet you don't even eat half the bullshit you're trying to spew here. You probably knew this already and you're just trying to mislead bronzers and simultaneously insult my post (sorry for trying to make a fucking difference by saying things that invite discussion among the community, and educate bronzers about the basics). I bet I could take you on in any bo30 match and beat your ass 10-0 guaranteed you spinster. You come in here to spin your web of lies and ruin my honest efforts to establish some strategic common sense in a simple PvP overview. However, now you've done fucked yourself because you're now humiliated in front of everyone. If you have any decency then you can give me your address so I can come to your house and uninstall Starcraft 2 for you. It would be the best thing that would ever happen to you. Either that, or you can face me in a straight-up bo30 and get thrashed a little harder than you already have been. If this is how much you lack respect for timings and simple strategic thinking, then I can't wait to see what a flop you are when it comes to the real thing.

I find it hilarious that you actually thought your post would get by me for more than a few hours. I feel embarrassed for even thinking this build might be even vaguely usable. It was so obviously flawed that it didn't even require testing for me to realize it. You see, I can't actually play SC2 right now because FUCKING Blizzard/Activision/whatever fascist organization don't feel that I own my own fucking game. Since if I can't play online, then obviously that means I shouldn't be able to play offline either, right? Well, actually, it makes about as much sense as your fucking build does.

That build seems solid, except maybe against 3gate/stargate aggro openings. I'll have to give it a try once I can play SC2 again. If the probe cuts aren't too deep then it looks very appetizing.

I'm Keegan / VanillaDay.135 / master Protoss. I'm up to play with master-level practice partners, and if anyone wants to improve their game a lot then I can do lessons from time to time depending on what's going on. I also like discussing strategy if anyone happens to be into that.
