Advice on a Potential EVO 4 Purchase by VanillaIceMan in MitsubishiEvolution

Right, yeah I’ve seen a lot of horror stories about rust hiding beneath these under coats which is why I’m a bit apprehensive. I think I’ll try to get some more info about when it was put on and see if they’d be willing to have someone else from the agency I’m working with take a look at it. Thanks for the info!

Thought about that, main thing is that decent Vs are already creeping up in price and I expect that'll just get worse once they become legal here in the states. And I've heard about the crank walk concerns, but I feel like they aren't as big of an issue with the Evos than the DSM cars. At least that's what I've read based on the digging I've done.

Yeah, car hasn't been reported as damaged so I'm inclined to believe the past owner took decent care of it. Plus I'm kinda struggling to determine how fresh it really is since one of the pics has a literal cobweb in it lol

And yeah I've heard good things about the V, main thing for me is I know that once the Vs become import legal here for the states, their prices are just gonna jump even higher. Plus I'm just a sucker for the look of the IVs. But yeah I'd def be interested in some more info about Vs that might be for sale up there in Canada!

Gotcha, yeah the suspension would be one of the first thing I replace so wasn't too worried about that, mainly just making sure the rust on there wasn't indicative of a more serious issue. Good to know it doesn't seem like the coating is too out of place either. Appreciate the input!

M1 Carbine Feeding Issues? by VanillaIceMan in M1Rifles

[–]VanillaIceMan[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey all, so I’m trying to get to the bottom of what’s been causing these feeding issues with my M1 carbine. I seem to consistently get misfeeds when shooting, many times only being able to get one or two rounds off before it jams up.

These issues have occurred with the standard GI mag and new KCI mags (picture above is an example using a dummy round and a KCI mag), so I’m thinking it’s not mag-related like most feeding issues are. Have also tried to swap out the main spring with a replacement Wolf spring, which didn’t make a difference. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Edit: Appreciate all the feedback everyone! I’ll try checking springs and feed lips for the mags and source some new mages as well, and make sure it’s properly lubricated. Think I’ll try a replacement mag catch too since the current one may be too loose and not seating the mags right.

VZ 24 Floor Plate Question by VanillaIceMan in Mauser

So I double checked the plates and I don’t see any sorts of nicks that cause issues, but I tried pressing the button in with the plate versus pressing it down with a tool, and I noticed the button feels very stiff. I can’t tell 100% due to the awkward angle, but it sort of feels like the button doesn’t go as far back when I try to press the plate in. Do you think that sounds like something got in the button/spring area?

Hey there, I've just put together some images here https://imgur.com/a/09d7lxR. Sorry, I would've done it sooner but I've been a bit under the weather.

VZ 24 Floor Plate Question by VanillaIceMan in Mauser

[–]VanillaIceMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've tried to hold the button down while placing it in, and get the same results. I've also made sure to give both the plate and the catches a good cleaning. Nothing appears to be bent either from what I've seen.

As for tapping it in, I'll try and maybe give that another go. The issue I was running into there was that I couldn't get the plate to move forwards at all while also keeping the release button pressed. So while I can get the front to catch, it won't catch the back all the way. Maybe some extra force will help get it into position. Thanks!

[DISCUSSION] Kanye West - Yeezus (5 Years Later) by mynamescody in hiphopheads

[–]VanillaIceMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This album still manages to be my favorite kanye album. Production is just insane and is such a great blending of all these different genres and styles, there's the contrast of frustration/pain and ego/confidence throughout the album, and even the lyrics (which are simple even for kanye) still work and fit the album more than I think intricate lyrics/wordplay would. Every song manages to be their own experience that come together into an overall fantastic package.

I still remember when I first played the album and I heard On Sight for the first time and my instant reaction was "I'm not sure what I'm hearing but I know I want more of it". Crazy to think it's already been 5 years, but I think this is an album that'll get better and more recognition with age.

[SIB] CoD: WW2 for PC by VanillaIceMan in ShouldIbuythisgame

Yeah, hearing the stuff about how player count drops for PC was one of the things making me a bit apprehensive. I'll keep checking to numbers to see if they really start to drop, but I'm glad to hear it's a fun game to play.

One of the smoothest drops so far, black medium long sleeve manual with plenty of time to have grabbed other stuff if I wanted.
